
The new special unit of the group Seventeen, S.Coups X Mingyu, is gaining high popularity in Japan. According to the latest chart announced by Oricon Japan on the 1st, S.Coups X Mingyu's first mini album "HYPE VIBES" ranked first on the "Daily Album Ranking" on the day of its release in Japan.
This album ranked first on the iTunes Japan "Top Albums" chart immediately after its release and also entered the top ranks on the Apple Music Japan "Top Albums" chart. The title track "5, 4, 3 (Pretty woman) (feat. Lay Bankz)" ranked high on Line Music's real-time and daily charts.
On the day of release, September 29, the album sold more than 600,000 copies, setting the record for the highest first-day sales of a K-pop unit album. It also ranked first on the iTunes "Top Albums" chart in 16 countries and regions and reached 6th place on the "Worldwide iTunes Albums" chart. The next day, on the 30th, it rose to 4th place.
The title track "5, 4, 3 (Pretty woman) (feat. Lay Bankz)" ranked first on Bugs' real-time chart immediately after its release, and not only the title track but all the tracks on the album successfully charted on Melon's "Top 100" chart. The music video topped the "YouTube Music Video Trending Worldwide" chart.
Expectations for S.Coups X Mingyu's performance are also growing. The pre-released title track challenge video has been played over 180 million times. Their new song stage will be revealed on Mnet's "M Countdown" on the 2nd.
