Shindong mentioned that he once had a friend he wanted to marry and talked about this on a broadcast, but the outcome was not good. He said, "There were even articles about our breakup, but that side didn't pay much attention," and referred to the fact that many celebrities at the time got married due to premarital pregnancy. Shindong explained, "So many people probably misunderstood, thinking 'They had a shotgun wedding, and there's a child.'"
Shindong also said that whenever mothers met him, they often asked if the sister or stylist beside him was his wife and inquired, "Is the child growing well?" He initially denied it, but the situation where he had to explain repeatedly continued. Shindong stated, "What caused the problem was another dating article that came out, so people thought I got divorced," clarifying his position.
Currently, Shindong emphasized that he is single, saying, "Since it's blown out of proportion, now I just think, 'Whatever.'" He added that he is raising a dog.
In 2010, Shindong appeared on the SBS variety show 'Strong Heart' and revealed that he was preparing to marry his then-girlfriend, whom he was dating publicly. He said, "I haven't told our parents about the marriage yet," and added, "I don't have much, I'm not old, and I'm not very famous." He then shared, "To be honest, we decided to have a formal meeting between families next week."
Shindong publicly proposed to his girlfriend through a video letter, saying, "Will you be happy with me forever? Please marry me." However, it is known that they broke up in 2013 after the proposal.
