Singer Yoon Min-soo and his ex-wife Kim Min-ji spoke out about the rumors of a fake divorce after their separation. On the SBS show "My Ugly Duckling" aired on the 12th, the two revealed their daily lives and the process of sorting out their belongings after the divorce. On the show, Kim Min-ji said that when they signed the divorce papers, it didn't feel real, but she truly felt the separation while dividing their belongings.
While preparing to move, Yoon Min-soo and Kim Min-ji joked about the labels they put all over the house for dividing their items, saying it looked like a bankrupt house. When they found photos of their son Yoon-hoo's childhood, they briefly bickered over who would keep them. Eventually, Yoon Min-soo decided to take the photos, and Kim Min-ji joked, "If it disappears at some point, don't look for it," which made everyone laugh.
Also, while organizing a drawer, they found their wedding photos, and Kim Min-ji hurriedly said, "Close it quickly," showing her embarrassment. Yoon Min-soo expressed his mixed feelings, asking, "What should we do with our photos? Should we throw them away?" Although their marriage ended, their realistic process of sorting through the memories they shared resonated with viewers.
Regarding the fake divorce rumors that arose after photos of them traveling to Japan with Yoon-hoo were revealed, the two expressed their frustration. Yoon Min-soo explained, "It was natural for us. You were out having fun on your own," while Kim Min-ji added, "That wasn't the case for me, but I posted the family trip to Japan looking very much like a family," clarifying that they were simply sharing their daily lives after the divorce.
In the broadcast, Yoon Min-soo showed scenes of peacefully concluding the divorce process by dividing insurance policies and organizing the internet. He said, "Until I was organizing the documents, the divorce didn't feel real. But when we divided and sorted our belongings, it hit me." He also expressed regret, saying, "I used to think living in a big house and earning good money was happiness, but I realized it's better when the family is together."
Kim Min-ji added, "I married thinking Yoon Min-soo would be like Sean, but that was only during dating." The two married in 2006 and have a son, Yoon-hoo, but announced their divorce last year. They continue to share their daily lives even after the divorce while living together due to issues like selling their house.
During the moving preparations on the show, Yoon Min-soo found their wedding photos. When Kim Min-ji asked, "What should we do? Should we throw them away?" Yoon Min-soo said, "Let's keep them until Yoon-hoo gets married..." but then fell silent. Kim Min-ji drew the line, saying, "I don't think so." She added, "I'll keep them. We should keep the guestbook." When Yoon Min-soo said, "I don't think there's anyone we can contact anymore," Kim Min-ji coolly responded, "That was 20 years ago."
Looking at the group photos filled with guests, Yoon Min-soo said, "I should keep this," and took the album. When they found Yoon-hoo's traditional first birthday outfit, Kim Min-ji became emotional, saying, "What's this?" and added, "At his first birthday, he grabbed a rice bowl. It was said he would live a long, healthy, and peaceful life." Yoon Min-soo responded uncertainly, "Didn't he grab the microphone?"
The couple, who had parted ways, briefly smiled at each other while looking at a sculpture of baby Yoon-hoo's foot and baby photos. Yoon Min-soo decided to keep the necklace containing Yoon-hoo's first haircut, and Kim Min-ji took the umbilical cord keepsake. Shin Dong-yup said, "Even though they divorced, they are still the mother and father of the baby," creating a poignant atmosphere. When Yoon Min-soo took out the family photo from the living room, Kim Min-ji said, "Even if you take it, you can't put it outside." Yoon Min-soo replied bitterly, "Ask Yoon-hoo. If he needs it, we'll put it in his room."
