In this episode, the protagonist Kang Taepung (Lee Junho) faces the economic crisis known as the IMF at his father Kang Jinyoung's (Sung Dong-il) funeral and joins Typhoon Corporation as a new employee. The impact of the IMF was clearly evident from the father's funeral. Choi, the president of Sapdari Logistics, a client of Typhoon Corporation (Kim Doyoung), caused a disturbance attempting to seize the condolence box over unpaid debts. The situation was stopped by accountant Oh Miseon (Kim Minha), who accurately recalled contract clauses and invoice dates to inform that the payment deadline had not yet passed. However, Miseon's younger brother Oh Miho (Kwon Hansol) and others around them were also affected by the IMF, such as the cancellation of recruitment at Korean Air. Taepung's close friend Wang Nammo's (Kim Minseok) mother was reassigned to standby at the bank, and most Typhoon Corporation employees, except Miseon and a few others, submitted their resignations and left the company.

Taepung visited Typhoon Corporation to sort out his father's belongings. The office bore traces of his father's 26 years of work, and the ledgers and journals proved his intense life. When Choi from Sapdari Logistics reappeared demanding joint guarantees over unpaid debts and pressured for the appointment of a successor representative, Taepung stepped forward to take responsibility. Taepung planned to return to the flower shop and live caring for flowers after finishing everything, but he discovered a secret safe in his father's office. Entering the password '2072' revealed bankbooks under his name and those of the employees. This made him realize the meaning his father had placed in Typhoon Corporation. Inside Kang Taepung's bankbook was a letter from his father containing the message, "I support your dreams. People are more important than results."

Taepung asked Miseon for help, saying, "I want to learn the work," and she supported his determination. Reflecting again on his father's wishes at the funeral, Taepung arrived at the company the next day completely changed. He shed his flashy style and appeared in a suit. Following Miseon and Majin, Taepung headed to the delivery site at Daebang Textile, but the company's atmosphere was unusual. The office was excessively clean, the filing cabinets were empty, and the phone lines were unplugged.

Sensing something was wrong, Taepung urged Miseon not to trust him or stamp any documents. He ran at full speed toward the cargo truck loaded with fabric, as forcing the delivery risked unpaid debts. When Majin refused to back down, Taepung lay down on the asphalt in front of the truck. In this scene, flower petals scattered over Taepung's face.
