Kim Woo-bin candidly shared his thoughts on viewers' reactions to the Netflix series "Da Iru-eojil Jini." In an interview held on the morning of the 13th at a café in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Kim Woo-bin expressed his feelings about the release of the work. "Da Iru-eojil Jini" is a fantasy romantic comedy about Genie (played by Kim Woo-bin), a lamp spirit who wakes up after a thousand years of career interruption, meeting Ga-young (played by Suzy), an emotionally detached human, and the three wishes they deal with. Since its release on the 3rd, it has recorded high popularity.
Kim Woo-bin said, "I am happy to introduce a work that I spent a long time working on last year. I am grateful that it was released during a long holiday period." However, "Da Iru-eojil Jini" has received mixed reactions from viewers. Kim Woo-bin explained, "Every work naturally has likes and dislikes. Our work contains many stories, so it is natural that various opinions come out." He added, "Regardless of the reactions, I sincerely appreciate everyone who has watched our drama."
He also mentioned some disappointment regarding overseas performance. Kim Woo-bin said, "(Domestically) the ratings continue to be number one," and added, "Netflix releases 13 titles at once, so everyone waits and doesn't watch them all on the same day. We are grateful for the responses from those who have watched and are communicating with them."
Reactions to the ending are also divided. Regarding the sudden happy ending of Genie and Ki Ga-young in the final episode, Kim Woo-bin said, "I didn't think it was sudden. I liked it. I liked that Ga-young and Genie ended warmly without parting sadly, and that it ended cheerfully with a message thrown to the sky, just like the writer."
Despite the diverse viewer reactions, "Da Iru-eojil Jini" is receiving positive evaluations, and Kim Woo-bin expressed his gratitude for these responses. He emphasized that the various elements of the work provide viewers with something to think about, which is meaningful.
