Singer Lim Jae-beom appeared as a judge on JTBC's variety show Sing Again 4, establishing himself from a "judging prodigy" to an "experienced judge."
Lim Jae-beom participated as a judge in Sing Again 4, which premiered on the 14th, following his role in season 3. Regarding his nickname "judging prodigy," he said, "I sadly feel like I've suddenly become an experienced judge," and added, "As in season 3, I want to offer advice on what I want to say or the emotions I feel. I will continue to support until the end," explaining his judging criteria.
Now an "experienced judge" and a "second-year" member, Lim Jae-beom sincerely empathized with the contestants' psychology and performances and did not hold back on advice. When the first round began, he said, "If it were me, I couldn't do it because I'd be too nervous. I would have forgotten all the lyrics," showing understanding of contestant number 57's pressure during their first stage. About contestant number 51's performance, he encouraged, "You did your own thing. I appreciate that. Even if it's not an easy music genre for the MZ generation, I hope you continue to stay and maintain balance."
Lim Jae-beom also caught attention with his humorous and witty judging comments. Regarding contestant number 67 from the "Sugarman" team, who performed rap, singing, and choreography all in one stage, he made the audience laugh by using a past catchphrase, "That's not a human being." He reinterpreted the term "Hidden name" (hidden masterpiece songs) as "songs that are so breathtaking you end up with a short life," and evaluated, "Seeing that they are still active as an idol is impressive, but contestant number 67 even did it alone. They did so well that I'm looking forward to the next song."
To contestant number 61, he gave heartfelt advice: "You did very well, and some people might try to add other techniques or teach you other skills as you live your life, but don't accept them. I want to see you keep walking with the pure dream of a clean girl." He praised contestant number 65, saying, "I wasn't going to say this this season, but you did really well."
On the other hand, to contestant number 37, who called himself an "ambitious man" and delivered a free-spirited stage, he gave honest feedback: "It's a genre I don't know at all. The feeling I had at the end was like paint that hasn't dried yet. I wondered if it was just painted on the surface and if that was right. I couldn't grasp it, so I couldn't press the again button in the end. Don't feel disappointed, and I hope you truly do your best to achieve your dream."
Meanwhile, on the same day at 6 p.m., Lim Jae-beom released the second pre-release track "The Time You Come" from his 8th full-length album on various online music sites. He will start the nationwide tour concert "I Am Lim Jae-beom," celebrating his 40th anniversary, with performances in Daegu on November 29, Incheon on December 13, Seoul on January 17 and 18 next year, Busan on January 24, and Suwon on January 31.
