
JTBC's 'Sing Again - Unknown Singer Season 4' premiered on the 14th. This season is an audition program that gives unknown singers another chance to perform on stage, and the first episode recorded nationwide ratings of 3.6% and 3.7% in the metropolitan area, marking a positive start.
'Sing Again 4' promised an unprecedented season, with fierce competition from the first round. This season expanded from six groups to seven, adding the 'Hidden Masters,' 'True Unknowns,' 'Sugarman,' 'OST,' 'Standing Alone,' and 'Audition Champions' groups. The survival battles in each group showcased the participants' skills and personalities, capturing viewers' attention.
In the first group, 'Hidden Masters,' many powerful contestants appeared. Contestant No. 57 emotionally performed Joh Ah-moon's 'To You Who Know My Pain' and passed. No. 51 presented Han Young-ae's 'Rhinoceros' and received high praise from the judges. Yoon Jong-shin described No. 51 as "the main dish," expressing anticipation for the next stage.
No. 19 rhythmically performed Kang San's 'Iguana' and received the season's first all-again. Judge Kyuhyun praised it as "the first stage today that gave me goosebumps."
In the 'Sugarman' group, No. 67 flawlessly performed the 2011 debut song 'This and That' with a perfect dance live, earning seven agains. Lim Jae-beom described it as "superhuman." No. 70 passionately sang 'Ice Fortress,' also earning seven agains, while No. 69 sang their hit 'Versailles Rose' and faced elimination with three agains. However, Kim Eana shouted, "Don't say that name ever," triggering the first super again, allowing No. 69 to advance to round two.
The 'Standing Alone' group also delivered touching performances. No. 43 performed BIBI's 'Life is a Bad X' and received an all-again. In the 'True Unknowns' group, No. 61 and No. 23 each sang Shin Seung-hoon's 'Butterfly Effect' and Kim Kwang-seok's 'Wait for Me,' respectively, both earning all-agains. No. 65 passionately sang Ha Dong-kyun's 'From Mark,' capturing the judges' hearts.
The judges offered various opinions on the participants' performances. No. 9 sang Daham's 'Scarecrow' and was put on hold with four agains. No. 17 chose aespa's 'Armageddon,' clearly showing their style and was also put on hold with four agains.
No. 37 performed BIBI's 'Hongdae R&B' in their own style and received seven agains. Code Kunst said, "I've been waiting for an artist like this," and Kyuhyun praised the performance as "skill that convinces confidence."
