JTBC's "Knowing Bros" will air a special episode titled "Knowing Our Language Competition" on the 18th. This episode features foreign transfer students and broadcasters Alberto, Christian, Leo Ranta, choreographer Kani, model Bibi, WayV members Ten and Xiaojun, and Ailead member Moka. They share their diverse experiences in Korea and discuss K-culture.
Alberto said, "The best Korean gift for Italians is a seal. Recently, I gave goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon a seal engraved with his name in Hangul, and he liked it so much that he said he would get a tattoo of it." This highlights the popularity of traditional Korean gifts among foreigners.
The transfer students mentioned popular Korean gifts such as fans, ssamjang, seaweed, kimchi, red ginseng, chopsticks, and cosmetics, confirming the global appeal of K-culture. Xiaojun from WayV said, "When Koreans realize something, they always react with 'Ah!' That's definitely a Korean trait," analyzing Korean characteristics from a foreigner's perspective.
Ten added, "Even when it's cold in winter, Koreans wear long padded jackets with three-striped slippers to convenience stores and drink iced Americanos," referring to Korea's unique fashion culture. This comment made the cast burst into laughter.
Choreographer Kani revealed, "The Korean word that's especially difficult to pronounce is 'joka' (nephew)," prompting the cast to help correct Kani's pronunciation, which caused laughter. Kani also shared, "I really like Korean melodramas full of betrayals. My favorite variety show is 'Divorce Deliberation Camp,'" revealing personal preferences.
Model Bibi said, "People might think Africa is hot, but Korea's August is even hotter, which surprised me. It's so hot and humid that I book a plane ticket every summer to spend a month in Senegal," showing how Korea's summer weather shocks foreigners.
Moka from Ailead said, "I'm from Fukuoka, where it snows maybe once a year, but Korea's winter is so cold that it surprised me," sharing personal experiences about Korea's climate.
"Knowing Bros" will air at 9 PM on the 18th. This special episode will showcase cast members from diverse cultural backgrounds sharing their experiences in Korea and conveying the charm of K-culture.
