Hong Yunhwa Reveals Secret to Losing 27kg... Shares Experience on Radio Star


On the 22nd, on MBC variety show 'Radio Star,' Hong Yunhwa revealed her diet experience and tips after losing 27kg. The episode was a special titled 'We Suit Each Other Quite Well,' featuring Kim Kwanggyu, Kim Wansun, Hong Yunhwa, and Jo Jjaejeuz.

Hong Yunhwa stated, "You didn't see me at my absolute heaviest, but I lost 27kg from that point, and now I've gained back 4kg due to some yo-yo effect." She is currently playing the role of a princess and recalled, "When the article about my 27kg weight loss came out, Disney contacted me for a princess role. I thought, 'Me, a princess?' But it turned out I was the princess of 'Beobully Hills,' a place gathering only chubby people."

Regarding the reason she started dieting, Hong Yunhwa said, "While competing on 'Queen of Ssireum,' I made it to the semifinals and wanted to work hard. I pushed myself so much that my cruciate ligament suddenly tore." She continued, "Since I couldn't walk on one leg, my posture was off, my back hurt, and my body ached, which made my mind deteriorate. That's when I decided to lose weight."

When Kim Gura asked if her husband Kim Minki must have had a hard time, Hong Yunhwa expressed gratitude, saying, "Minki oppa carried me on his back. The power of love is amazing; he lifted me and carried me from the sofa to the dining table." She also revealed before-and-after photos showing a 20kg weight loss, explaining, "I lost 7kg more than in the current photo. It's the same outfit. I planned to wear it to Junho and Jimin sunbaenim's wedding, but it became too big, so I wore something else."

When asked about her diet tips, Hong Yunhwa emphasized, "You shouldn't eat low-salt or low-sugar. You have to eat salty and sweet unconditionally." She explained, "If you eat without salt and sugar, people become irritable. Then you get angry at your husband, fight, drink to make up, order chicken as a snack, and gain weight again. It's a vicious cycle."

Hong Yunhwa added, "You have to eat moderately salty and sweet to avoid getting angry. You need to change the way you eat. It's a bit bothersome, but just changing your diet will make the weight drop steadily." She showcased dishes made with substitute ingredients, such as replacing sweets with alternative sweeteners and carbohydrates with tapioca starch.

Hong Yunhwa's diet experience inspired many, and her honest stories and tips became a hot topic through the broadcast. She shared the difficult moments during her diet journey and the lessons learned, emphasizing the importance of healthy eating habits.
