Park Bom begins legal action against YG CEO Yang Hyun-suk, 'SNS complaint document revealed'

Park Bom announced her intention to sue Yang Hyun-suk, CEO of YG Entertainment, and her current agency, D Nation Entertainment, has issued a statement. On the 23rd, D Nation Entertainment stated, "The settlement related to Park Bom's activities with 2NE1 has already been completed. The complaint uploaded to the account has not been officially received." The agency added, "Park Bom has suspended all activities and is focusing on treatment and recovery. We will do our best to help the artist regain her health."

The day before, Park Bom posted on her SNS a request to thoroughly investigate what YG Entertainment did to her, along with a complaint naming Yang Hyun-suk as the 'defendant.' The complaint included the claim that "the defendant did not properly pay the profits generated from all activities involving the plaintiff, including music releases, performances, broadcasts, advertisements, and events." Park Bom asserted that the profits generated amounted to an estimated 642.72 trillion won.

Park Bom's side emphasized, "The defendant has not only failed to provide settlement details but has never made a single proper payment to the plaintiff. As a result, the plaintiff has suffered severe financial loss and mental damage, which clearly constitutes fraud and embezzlement." Currently, Park Bom has suspended activities due to health issues since last August.

Last year, Park Bom reunited with 2NE1 members after eight years and conducted an Asia tour but had to suspend activities due to health reasons. The agency explained, "Park Bom will not be able to participate in 2NE1's future schedules. After receiving a medical opinion that she needs sufficient rest and stability, we made this unavoidable decision after deep discussion."

Meanwhile, Park Bom became embroiled in an animal abuse controversy. On the early morning she posted the complaint against Yang Hyun-suk, she also shared a photo of her pet dog wearing lipstick. The lipstick contains ingredients harmful to animals' health, such as bacterial infections, skin diseases, and allergies. In relation to this, a YouTuber was reported for violating the Animal Protection Act after posting a video applying lipstick to a cat. Notably, this post was made just two hours after Park Bom announced her intention to sue Yang Hyun-suk, raising concerns.

At the same time, actor Lee Yi-kyung became the center of SNS rumors. Lee Yi-kyung suffered damage from false posts by others, and his agency, Sangyoung ENT, stated, "We will assess the scale of direct and indirect damages caused by the spread of false information and take all necessary measures." On the 20th, a netizen identified as A posted a blog titled "Exposing Lee Yi-kyung's True Self," claiming to be a German exchange student. A released KakaoTalk messages and SNS direct messages containing sexual content with a man, alleging the man was Lee Yi-kyung.

Sangyoung ENT revealed that about five months ago, A sent threatening emails demanding money related to this content. When the agency announced legal action, A apologized. Afterwards, A deleted all videos and posts and posted an additional statement saying, "I did ask once if I could get money, but I never received any, nor did I ask again. I want you to know this is definitely not about money."

However, on the 22nd, A posted an apology saying, "I posted many photos related to actor Lee Yi-kyung recently. I didn't expect this to get so much attention as it started as a joke. I'm sorry." When suspicions arose that A deleted posts after receiving money from the agency, A reactivated the account on the 23rd and stated, "I did not receive money nor was I threatened. This is all I will say. Thank you for understanding."

A also directly refuted a comment from another user saying, "You can't admit you got money," by replying, "I did not receive any." These series of incidents highlight once again the problems caused by SNS use and rumor spreading in the entertainment industry.
