The group ZEROBASEONE has released a special EP titled "ICONIK" targeting the Japanese market. Released at midnight on October 24 through various music platforms, this album consists of a total of three tracks, including the title song "ICONIK (Japanese ver.)." ZEROBASEONE is a group composed of nine members: Seong Hanbin, Kim Jiwoong, Jang Hao, Seok Matthew, Kim Taerae, Riki, Kim Kyubin, Park Geonwook, and Han Yujin.
The title track "ICONIK (Japanese ver.)" reflects ZEROBASEONE's journey as artists. The song conveys the message that "regardless of others' evaluations, we can become iconic beings ourselves," embodying the members' confident aspirations. ZEROBASEONE shows their determination not only to represent the 5th generation but to establish themselves as an iconic brand.
The special performance music video released alongside the album features ZEROBASEONE performing intense and powerful group choreography in various spaces inside a building. The use of the building's structure to enhance the immersion of the performance has drawn attention.
In addition to the title track "ICONIK," this Japanese special EP includes "SLAM DUNK" and "BLUE," the title track from their previous 5th mini-album "BLUE PARADISE." All songs are performed in Japanese.
ZEROBASEONE debuted in Japan last March with their first single "Yurayura -Unmei no Hana- (ゆらゆら -運命の花-)," achieving "half a million seller" status within a week, marking the highest record for a debut album by an overseas artist. Following that, their first EP "PREZENT," released last January, ranked first on both the Oricon weekly album chart and the weekly combined album chart. They also ranked fourth in Billboard Japan's 2025 first half-year "Top Album Sales," proving their popularity in Japan.
Amid enthusiastic fan responses, ZEROBASEONE was selected as the winner of the "Best New Artist" Asia category at the 39th Japan Gold Disc Awards. Their first full-length album released domestically, "NEVER SAY NEVER," also ranked second on both the Oricon weekly album chart and the weekly combined album chart, showcasing their popularity as a global top-tier group.
