Singer Juniel revealed her struggles with health problems caused by hypothyroidism and weight gain. In a video titled "[EP. 28 Juniel] '10kg weight gain due to health issues'... The reason why the hit song singer suddenly disappeared," uploaded on the YouTube channel 'One Mic' on the 24th, she opened up about her feelings.

Since her debut in 2012, Juniel has been loved for several hit songs such as "Illa Illa," "Bad Person," and "Cute Guy," and at the time, she was noted with the nickname "the second IU." She mentioned COVID-19 and her health problems as reasons for her inactivity. She said, "There were various things, but when I couldn't be very active, it was because of COVID and when I was sick."

Due to hypothyroidism, Juniel experienced decreased stamina and lethargy. She explained, "I revealed that my thyroid was not good, so I took a long break from activities. Hypothyroidism came, and my stamina decreased a lot, and lethargy increased. My body became very heavy." She added that hypothyroidism caused her to "gain weight for no reason. I lived the same as usual, but I just gained weight for no reason. The swelling didn't go away, so it felt like it just turned into fat."

Juniel also mentioned the stress and depression caused by weight gain. She recalled the difficult times, saying, "I gained weight for no reason and wondered, 'Why is this happening?' But after my thyroid got better and I took medicine, I lost 8kg in a month. I was very stressed and was severely depressed at the time, so I didn't meet people at all." She said, "I had gained up to 60kg then. I gained almost over 10kg and was stressed."

Currently, Juniel emphasized the need for regular checkups regarding her health, saying, "There is nothing significantly bad in the numbers, but since you never know when or how it might get worse, they said I have to keep getting blood tests once a year." She also stated, "My stamina hasn't come back yet, so I have to work out hard."

Juniel's health problems were one of the main reasons she stopped her activities, resulting in reduced communication with her fans. Through her experience, she once again emphasized the importance of health management. Juniel plans to recover her health and resume her activities in the future.
