Former basketball player Lim Hyo-sung publicly revealed conflicts with his wife, Shu. In a video posted on the YouTube channel "Human That's Shu" on the 24th, Lim Hyo-sung was shown attending couples counseling. On that day, Shu pointed out the cause of their conflict as "differences in child-rearing methods and ways of thinking," stating, "I don't want to show the children us fighting because my parents' fights left a trauma when I was young."

Shu recalled the period when she faced social criticism due to repeated gambling controversies in the past, saying, "I tried to swallow kind words to overcome it. I'm not the type to relieve stress, so I needed my own time." She explained that she tends to close her heart when emotions run high, adding, "There are moments when I want to run out of the house instantly. To avoid those moments, I sometimes went to karaoke alone to cry or dance."

In individual counseling, Lim Hyo-sung said, "I only played sports since I was young, so I had anxiety about my abilities," and added, "After handling Shu's matters for more than three years, I found stability, but emptiness came." Despite gaining financial stability, he said he does not feel the stability of a normal family. Lim Hyo-sung added, "I wondered why I came this far. I live suppressing my anger. I don't share my story with people around me because my pride is hurt."

During the difficult time caused by Shu's gambling controversy, Lim Hyo-sung said he drank alcohol every day. He said, "I don't have faith in my wife, but I feel very sorry. When I go out looking for work, I feel guilty. When Shu was wrong, I thought, 'She shouldn't break down this much.'" The two are currently separated, and Lim Hyo-sung confessed, "Our relationship has grown distant, but I thought if I tried, her heart would come back. However, I ended up letting go, thinking, 'She's always been like this, and I just didn't know.'"

Lim Hyo-sung expressed dissatisfaction with Shu saying it's better to keep distance, emphasizing, "I really hate living like this. But Shu comfortably says this kind of relationship is good, so I have complaints about that." The two refused to hold hands during counseling, which brought laughter. Lim Hyo-sung expressed gratitude to Shu for protecting the family and raising the children during difficult times, and Shu expressed thanks to Lim Hyo-sung for silently supporting her through tough times.
