KBS's new dating reality show "Noona Is a Woman to Me" is set to premiere on October 27. The program is hosted by MCs Han Hye-jin and Hwang Woo-seul-hye, who share their dating experiences with younger men. Notably, Han Hye-jin previously dated baseball player Cha Woo-chan, who is four years her junior, and they broke up eight years ago, drawing viewers' attention.
In the first episode, Han Hye-jin and Hwang Woo-seul-hye appear as the "noona representatives," while Jang Woo-young and Soobin represent the "younger men." From the start, they show intense involvement, capturing the audience's gaze. In the VCR, a younger man begins with an active flirtation, saying, "Noona, shall we go on a date together?" The older women respond positively to the younger men's charm, saying things like, "Should I say he's cute? He just looked pretty," and "I didn't know younger men could feel like men this way."
Han Hye-jin blushes and says about the younger men's charm, "My heart is pounding so fast." Hwang Woo-seul-hye smiles warmly and says, "I liked being called 'noona'." Han Hye-jin expresses, "I really felt my age. I've heard 'noona' from my younger brother all my life, but that 'noona' wasn't everything," showing how she is drawn to the younger men's charm. Hwang Woo-seul-hye agrees, saying, "It's completely different when someone else calls you 'noona' compared to your younger brother."
Jang Woo-young, puzzled, asks about dating experiences with younger men, saying, "They didn't even call you 'noona,' so why do you like it so much?" Han Hye-jin responds, "Of course, I have. Maybe more than you think," sparking curiosity. Hwang Woo-seul-hye jokes, "Since my mid-thirties, I've mostly dated younger men. Older men... maybe I don't like them because I'm older?"
Soobin expresses concern about the age gap, asking, "What if you like someone but the age difference is as much as a decade?" Han Hye-jin says, "It should be around thirty-three or thirty-four. Thirty might be a bit difficult. It feels a little too young," while Hwang Woo-seul-hye shows a different view on age, saying, "As long as they're over thirty, I think it's all good." Jang Woo-young raises expectations by mentioning, "The maximum age gap among the participants is more than a decade."
The program depicts scenes where a younger man says, "Up to four years older is okay," and "I couldn't control my expression. I thought age wouldn't be a big deal," while the older women appear embarrassed, saying, "He was younger than I thought," and "Am I not appealing as a woman?" These conflicts reveal the complex emotions between older women and younger men, making the MCs tense.
"Noona Is a Woman to Me" centers on the theme of older women and younger men's real romance and promises a whirlwind of developments from the first broadcast. The program airs on Monday, the 27th, at 9:50 PM on KBS2.
