&TEAM will release their first Korean mini-album "Back to Life" on October 28. They have previously achieved million-seller status in Japan and are preparing for a new leap through their official debut in the K-pop market. &TEAM consists of nine members: Uiju, Huma, K, Nicholas, Yuma, Jo, Harua, Taki, and Maki.
The title track "Back to Life," which shares the same name as the album, was pre-released on October 27 at 6 PM. This song belongs to the rock hip-hop genre, characterized by grand and intense beats and sounds. The message of the song conveys "believing in the revived instincts and running toward where the heart points." The nine members use past wounds as fuel for growth, strengthening their unity and infusing tension and catharsis throughout the song.
The "Back to Life" music video visually expresses &TEAM's identity of "wolf DNA" and their challenging instincts. In the introduction, Maki sets a solemn mood by asking, "Am I a monster? Are we?" Following this, a powerful group dance with dozens of dancers, storms, and scars draws the viewer into the scene.
A scene in the music video where boys driven by instinct collide amid crowds and splashing water symbolizes the explosion of suppressed emotions. When the calm clouds and meadow scenery are revealed as artificial sets, it contrasts with the harshness of reality, heightening the tension. The moment Jo holds K's hand signifies the climax where salvation and awakening intersect.
As the video progresses, the nine members' group dance swirls like a single "wolf pack," delivering a message of hope through the image of a boy moving toward the light after the storm subsides. &TEAM dramatically portrays the "revived instincts" that rise again despite facing trials through the music video.
The "Back to Life" album includes six additional tracks besides the title song. These are "Lunatic," which features a lively charm; "Mismatch," a lovely confession song; "Rush," notable for its powerful vocals; "Heartbreak Time Machine," a rock ballad that delivers deep resonance; and "Who Am I," which blends delicate melodies with sincere lyrics.
The album credits include Bang Si-hyuk, Soma Genda, Latin Grammy Award-nominated producer and songwriter Julia Lewis, producer Tyler Spry who has collaborated with various artists, S Scotty Dietrich, Mick Coogan, Park Moon-chi, and others. They united to support &TEAM's musical growth.
With &TEAM's debut, new possibilities in the K-pop market are drawing attention. They are expanding their musical colors through communication with global fans, raising expectations for their future activities. &TEAM's first album "Back to Life" is regarded as an important milestone that will open a new chapter in K-pop.
