Lee Chan-won proves vocal skills with second full-length album 'Challan'

Singer Lee Chan-won released his second full-length album "Chanran (燦爛)" on the 20th. This album is his first full-length release in 2 years and 8 months since his first album "ONE," and his first new work in 1 year and 7 months since "bright;燦."

"Chanran" is an album where Lee Chan-won showcases his vocal abilities across various genres beyond traditional trot. Comprising a total of 10 tracks, the album includes diverse music genres such as country, ballad, dance, rock, and blues. Lee Chan-won skillfully handles each genre, breaking away from his existing image as a "trot singer" and revealing a new identity as a "vocalist."

The title track "Oneureun Waenji" is Lee Chan-won's first attempt at a pop-style country song. This song features an easy listening melody that people of all ages can hum along to, with lovely lyrics and Lee Chan-won's bright and positive voice blending to give listeners a friendly feeling.

Lee Chan-won continues the minor country music atmosphere with "Nakyeopcheoreom Tteoreojin Neowa Na" before shifting the mood with the traditional ballad "Malhaetjanha." In this song, listeners can feel Lee Chan-won's dramatically rising vocal prowess. The following track "Cheotsarang" presents another change by combining 80s Euro dance and funky elements.

"Mom's Spring Day" delivers warm vocals and emotions, while "Siwol-ui Si" harmonizes orchestra and acoustic instruments to maximize Lee Chan-won's singing ability. "Naui Oraen Yeohaeng" is a bright and lively British soft rock song that energizes with vocals suited to the refreshing band sound. Lastly, "Nareul Tteonajimayo" is a modern rock-style sad pop ballad conveying Lee Chan-won's deep emotions.

In this album, Lee Chan-won focused on his capabilities as a vocalist. Having credited two songs on his first full album "ONE" and worked as a producer on his previous album "bright;燦," he set aside the burden of songwriting for this album. He only participated in writing and composing the last track "Binnaneun Byeol," while the other songs were created with the help of experts.

The title track "Oneureun Waenji" was composed by Jo Young-soo, with lyrics by Roy Kim. Jo Young-soo was responsible for "Nakyeopcheoreom Tteoreojin Na," "Malhaetjanha," "Cheotsarang," "Nareul Tteonajimayo," and "Binnaneun Byeol," playing a major role in this album. Additionally, various composers such as Ahn Young-min, Rocoberry, Lee Yoo-jin, and Kim Eana participated to enhance the album's completeness.

Lee Chan-won delivers vocals suited to each genre, offering completely different interpretations and new vocal colors for every song. Through this, he has transformed from "trot singer Lee Chan-won" to "versatile vocalist Lee Chan-won."

His second full-length album "Chanran" recorded initial sales of approximately 610,000 copies, making Lee Chan-won a three-time half-million seller with his full album "ONE" (initial sales about 570,000) and mini album "bright;燦" (initial sales about 600,000). This demonstrates the strong fandom Lee Chan-won has built.

Lee Chan-won will continue this "brilliant moment" through a nationwide tour concert. He will hold a concert in Seoul at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium for three days from December 12 to 14, and then meet audiences in Daegu, Incheon, Busan, Jinju, and other locations.
