
Moon Hee-jun of the group H.O.T. revealed that he passed the SM audition by imitating Kim Min-jong's voice. In a video uploaded on the 27th to the online channel 'Jjanhan Hyung Shin Dong-yeop,' the full lineup of H.O.T. appeared and reminisced about past memories.
Recalling the audition, Moon Hee-jun said, "When I took the SM audition, I did an impression of Kim Min-jong hyung. I performed both dance and singing at the audition." He added, "I prepared eight different talents, and Mr. Lee Soo-man personally conducted the audition."
Moon Hee-jun also recalled his conversation with Mr. Lee Soo-man. He said, "Mr. Lee Soo-man asked me, 'Are you really going to become a singer?' and I answered, 'Yes, I am.' Then he said, 'But you used eight talents. Do you want to be a comedian? Or do you want to be a singer?'" Moon Hee-jun said, "I told him I wanted to be a singer. Then he said, 'Then just show me a few.'"
He spontaneously performed Kim Min-jong's voice impression, causing laughter. Moon Hee-jun explained, "I held my nose up and down and sang Kim Min-jong hyung's song, and Mr. Lee Soo-man burst out laughing." He also mentioned, "I danced the Power Racer dance, which was the dance I did with my hips during the 'Candy' era."
Moon Hee-jun said that during the audition, Mr. Lee Soo-man came close and told him to put his ear near him, then said, "Hey, you start with me tomorrow." He emphasized, "I passed immediately." Moon Hee-jun said, "He liked my dancing a little, his reaction to my singing was like 'Hmm~,' but he was satisfied when I did my talents."
