Seventeen, the story of meeting a judge in court... Making new history in K-pop

The group SEVENTEEN opened a new horizon for K-pop with their original content themed around courtroom drama. On the 29th at 9 PM, SEVENTEEN released "GOING SEVENTEEN" episode "EP.142 Innocent Until Proven Guilty #1" on their official team YouTube channel. This episode centers on a prison medical officer murder case and depicts the members' courtroom battles.

SEVENTEEN's leader S.Coups appears as a character who is wrongfully imprisoned and accused as the perpetrator of the incident. Joshua, Woozi, Vernon, and Dino take on the roles of prosecutors, arguing that S.Coups had a grudge against the victim and had access to the murder weapon, aiming to prove his guilt. On the other hand, Jun, Hoshi, The8, Mingyu, and Seungkwan act as defense attorneys, countering that the motive is weak and physical evidence is insufficient, leading to a tense confrontation.

This episode enhanced immersion with meticulous settings rarely seen in K-pop content. The case file includes testimonies from inmates and prison officers, and traces of the incident remain intact at the crime scene. Various elements such as the victim's financial transactions before death were added, creating tension akin to a movie. The members present their claims through interviews with related parties and on-site investigations, uncovering the truth of the case.

Notably, lawyer Jung Jae-min, a former judge, added weight to the case by wielding the judge's gavel. Toward the end of the episode, a twist reveals that a witness who gave testimony favorable to the prosecution has a collusive relationship with the victim. Additionally, CCTV footage capturing prison officer Dokyeom having a secret conversation with the victim intensifies curiosity about uncovering the truth.

Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN proved their popularity in Japan by including "HOME;RUN" and "God of Music" in the streaming certification list released by the Japan Record Association on the 30th. Both songs surpassed 50 million cumulative streams as of last September and received "Gold" certification from the Japan Record Association. With this, SEVENTEEN now holds a total of 17 songs certified "Gold" or higher in the streaming category.

SEVENTEEN's latest content demonstrates new possibilities for K-pop and is praised as a work that highlights their creativity and acting skills. They are expanding their influence by communicating with fans not only through music but also through diverse content. Attention is focused on SEVENTEEN's future activities.
