A woman in her 30s who sent threatening messages to Han Ji-min is finally going to trial.

A woman in her 30s who posted threatening messages targeting actress Han Ji-min has been brought to trial. On the 20th, the Criminal Division 5 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office indicted Lee (female, in her 30s) without detention on charges of threats and defamation.

It was confirmed that from September to October of last year, Lee posted 19 messages targeting Han Ji-min on her social media account. These posts included statements such as "I will sabotage the movies Han Ji-min appears in" and "Shut your mouth." Lee also directly tagged Han Ji-min and her acquaintances in the posts.

According to the investigation, Lee began posting these messages after news of Han Ji-min's relationship with Choi Jung-hoon (33), the vocalist of the band Jannabi, became public in August of last year. Lee's actions were considered to have damaged Han Ji-min's reputation and caused psychological distress.

Han Ji-min's agency, BH Entertainment, filed a complaint with the police last year. The police requested cooperation from the SNS operator to identify Lee's identity. Subsequently, Lee was sent to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment in March, and after further investigation, the prosecution brought her to trial.

This case is regarded as a reminder of the seriousness of cybercrimes against celebrities. Acts of threats and defamation are socially unacceptable crimes that cause mental suffering to victims. The legal community is increasingly calling for stronger punishments for such crimes.

Han Ji-min is a leading Korean actress who is actively involved in various works. Her agency has announced plans to respond strongly to this case. The trial outcome is expected to serve as a precedent for similar cases in the future.

This case raises awareness of the dangers of cyber violence not only for celebrities but also for the general public. With the development of SNS, personal privacy is easily exposed, and related crimes are increasing. There is a need for heightened awareness of cybercrime throughout society.

The court's upcoming verdict is attracting attention, and there is growing interest in the legal consequences of Lee's actions. The legal community points out that this case should serve as an opportunity to strengthen legal standards against cybercrime.
