82Major has returned to the music scene with the release of their new mini album, "Trophy." The group showcased their confident and passionate new songs at a showcase held on the 30th at Ilji Art Hall in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. 82Major is a male group consisting of Nam Seongmo, Park Seokjun, Yoon Yechan, Jo Sungil, Hwang Seongbin, and Kim Dokyun.
Jo Sungil said, "I'm nervous to present the new album," adding, "We practiced a lot while challenging a new genre, and since our skills have improved, I'm really looking forward to this promotion." The new song "Trophy" highlighted 82Major's distinctive confidence on stage. The track is based on tech house beats and showcased the group's wide musical spectrum.
Kim Dokyun said, "82Major's music is free and full of the members' confidence," and added, "While creating the songs, I felt a sense of freedom and freshness, and I hope the public and fans feel that too." Yoon Yechan said, "Since we made the songs and choreography ourselves, I think our confidence has grown," and added, "I hope many people enjoy the music and performances we prepared."
This comeback is notable as 82Major's first since SM Entertainment became the second-largest shareholder of their agency, Great M Entertainment. Nam Seongmo said, "SM has given us a lot of support. It's an honor to work with the seniors at SM," and expressed determination, saying, "Even though they have many years of experience, seniors like SHINee work hard on stage, and 82Major wants to be a group that gives their all on stage as well."
The goal of this promotion is to collect "trophies." Nam Seongmo and Hwang Seongbin said, "We hope this new song will lead to activities where we can lift various 'trophies,'" and added, "We want to be good senior singers so that kids dreaming of becoming idols can look up to 82Major and nurture their dreams." Jo Sungil said, "I want to receive a trophy at the Grammy Awards," and added, "It would be really great if that could happen through this promotion."
82Major's 4th mini album, "Trophy," will be released at 6 PM on various online music sites. This album is the result of the group's passion and confidence condensed into one work. The title track of the same name, "Trophy," is a tech house song characterized by an addictive bass line, expressing their ambition to stack up trophies. The album also includes songs such as "Say More," "Suspicious," and "Need That Bass," which the members participated in writing and composing.
Through this album, 82Major declares victory with music based on precious moments created together with their fans. The group plans to continue activities that maintain their musical identity while communicating with their fans.
