On the broadcast of TV Chosun's "Gourmet Heo Young-man's Baekban Journey" aired on the 2nd, Mimi from the group Oh My Girl opened up about the difficulties she faced in the early days of her debut. Mimi was seen exploring delicious food in Hoengseong, Gangwon Province, together with Heo Young-man. On the show, Mimi affectionately called Heo Young-man "uncle," showing a friendly side. The two have a connection from appearing together on the food documentary "Land of Taste."
Heo Young-man expressed his affection for Mimi, saying, "These days, when I turn on the TV, Mimi appears everywhere. She's like a faucet." Mimi revealed, "Among the Oh My Girl members, I have the most broadcasting activities," indicating her active participation in various variety shows recently. However, she confessed that she had no personal schedules at all in the early days of her debut. Mimi's words, "I was like a dog guarding the house," clearly reflect the hardships she experienced at that time.
Mimi shared an experience during a group commercial shoot where the other members were filmed with a fresh image, but she was styled in a boyish way that didn't fit the concept, leaving her alone in the waiting room. She honestly expressed her feelings at the time, saying, "It was upsetting, right?" Mimi added, "Before that, I practiced in front of the mirror trying to look as pure as possible, but it didn't work out well. The emptiness was great."
After hearing Mimi's story, Heo Young-man expressed sympathy, saying, "So Mimi also had such pain." In response, Mimi showed a positive attitude, saying, "Those who endure survive and win. Life is about enduring."
Mimi is currently active in variety shows such as "Ppyong Ppyong Earth Arcade," establishing herself as a rising star in entertainment. Besides broadcasting, she enjoys various hobbies and revealed, "My original dream was not to be a singer but a painter or cartoonist." She also explained, "I dreamed of becoming a Korean language teacher, but I liked dancing, so I became an idol."
When asked about dating, Mimi answered, "There is no reason. There's no one hitting on me around, and no one is flirting with me." Regarding her ideal type, she said, "Someone like a childhood friend who knows each other well and naturally falls in love," naming Yang Gwan-sik from the drama "Completely Fooled" as her ideal type.
Mimi embraces both her past and present, maintaining a positive mindset even after going through difficult times. Her story resonates with and comforts many people, raising expectations for her future activities.
