
Actor Lee Yi-kyung is leaving MBC variety show "Hangout with Yoo." Due to a busy schedule with overseas commitments, Lee Yi-kyung will continue to appear on "I Am Solo" on SBS Plus and ENA, as well as "Brave Detectives" on E Channel.
On November 4, Lee Yi-kyung's agency Sangyoung ENT told Newsen, "He will continue to appear on SBS Plus·ENA's 'I Am Solo' and E Channel's 'Brave Detectives' without any changes." Lee Yi-kyung has been cast in the Vietnamese film "I Am Here" and the Japanese TBS drama "Dream Stage," with filming scheduled soon.
"Hangout with Yoo" is a program that records weekly, and it is reported that Lee Yi-kyung decided to leave because it was difficult to manage the tight schedule including overseas filming.
The production team of "Hangout with Yoo" released an official statement regarding Lee Yi-kyung's departure. They said, "Lee Yi-kyung had many concerns about participating in the program due to his schedule including overseas commitments and recently expressed his intention to leave. We respect his opinion and after discussions, we decided to support each other's paths. We thank Lee Yi-kyung for showing passion despite his busy schedule."
Meanwhile, Lee Yi-kyung recently faced difficulties due to rumors related to his private life. On November 3, his agency announced, "Through legal representatives, we have submitted damage materials and filed a complaint with the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul against the authors and distributors of related posts for spreading false information and defamation." The agency stated a firm stance, saying, "We will continuously monitor malicious posts that damage the personality and honor of our actor and will take legal action without leniency."
Lee Yi-kyung will continue his activities in various works in the future.
