Kwon Jin-ah announces farewell to Antenna after 10 years and the beginning of a new challenge

Singer Kwon Jin-ah revealed that she has left Antenna, where she had been signed for 10 years, and become independent. She appeared on the MBC variety show "Radio Star" aired on the 5th to announce her new beginning. Kwon Jin-ah said she established a one-person agency and explained the background of her independence. She humorously said, "While working on a duet with senior JYP, we ate at the company cafeteria. Our company is small, but I would be grateful if you could acquire it."

On the same broadcast, Park Jin-young, Ahn So-hee, and Boom also appeared. Park Jin-young revealed that he was appointed co-chairman of the presidential 'Popular Culture Exchange Committee.' He said, "I refused for three months, but I decided for the future of the K-pop industry," and added, "I thought it was something that couldn't be done at the company level but should be tried at the national level." Park Jin-young shared an anecdote that the offer to be chairman overlapped with his schedule to appear on "Radio Star," saying, "The president was at the National Strategy Meeting, and I was at 'Radio Star,'" which made everyone laugh.

He asserted about his political stance, "I am neither progressive nor conservative; I am Park Jin-young." Park Jin-young said, "Progressives are essential to protect the common people, but conservative policies must also exist for balance," and added, "Seeing the need for both sides in the current era, I try to maintain a center." In response to this remark, Ahn So-hee covered her face, saying, "I'm so embarrassed," and when Park Jin-young said, "Stray Kids said this comment was okay," Kim Gu-ra retorted, "That's just social life."

Park Jin-young shared that JYP ranked 3rd worldwide and 1st in Korea in the ESG 'World Sustainable Growth Companies' ranking. He emphasized, "A system with sincerity eventually works." He explained the company's management philosophy, saying, "The old building was built by Rain and Wonder Girls, and the new building was built by Stray Kids and TWICE." He also said, "I wanted the company to be able to provide organic lunch boxes."

Park Jin-young also expressed his affection for his two daughters. He said, "My daughters are 6 and 5 years old. These days, their specialty is playing rodeo. Outside, I'm a singer, but at home, I kneel and lie down," and added, "The eldest has exceptional dancing skills, and the younger one sings well. I hope they become singers." Kim Gu-ra said, "It's an artistic DNA family," showing his envy.

Ahn So-hee returned to "Radio Star" after 14 years, recalling, "Back then, I was very shy and quiet, so I was asked the most if I was feeling okay." She added, "Now that I'm older, I thought it would be fun to be with PD Park Jin-young, so I came." Ahn So-hee candidly revealed behind-the-scenes stories of Wonder Girls' "Tell Me" promotions and difficulties during their U.S. debut. She said, "I didn't like the retro concept at the time. Wearing clothes that peers didn't wear and tying my hair lowered my confidence."

Park Jin-young revealed with laughter, "The members initially didn't like the song either." He added, "They also didn't like So-hee's nickname 'Mandu So-hee' or her 'Oh my!' reaction at first, but now I'm grateful." Park Jin-young said, "When we ate together after a long time, So-hee kept asking questions during the gap. I thought she had started social life." Ahn So-hee confessed, "Doing YouTube gave me a habit of hosting."

The two showed perfect chemistry by performing the "Change Me" dance on the spot. Park Jin-young said, "So-hee is the only one who calls me JY," and added, "She's a friend who's more comfortable than family." Ahn So-hee said, "Everyone called me JY during my U.S. activities, so I naturally started calling him that."

Boom called himself "Jjopa," saying, "Park Jin-young and I are people who were in the same group." He recalled competing as a trainee with Rain and Se7en during his days at Anyang Arts High School, saying, "Back then, debuting was everything. I wanted to go to Park Jin-young hyung's company." Boom set up a keyboard and microphone and performed to Park Jin-young's voice. Park Jin-young praised, "I feel the sincerity," and Kim Gu-ra admired, "That's Boom's survival skill."

Boom said, "As someone with 20 years in broadcasting, I always try not to lose my original intention," and added, "Whenever I'm having a hard time, I press that button to reset and approach every broadcast as if it's the first." He said, "My daughter is 19 months old, and she always does the ending pose when I dance. The part I had surgery on resembles my wife, and the part I didn't resembles me," which made everyone laugh.

Kwon Jin-ah mentioned an episode with CEO Yoo Hee-yeol during her independence process, saying, "CEO Yoo Hee-yeol joked that he would 'release the snake' at my concert." She also mentioned connections with stars like Gong Yoo, Lee Hyori, Suzy, Park Bo-gum, and Ive's Liz, saying, "Thanks to senior Gong Yoo, I flew business class for the first time, and the mug cup Liz gifted me was worth 1 million won." She especially revealed an episode visiting Park Jin-young's house, saying, "It looked like the house from 'Parasite.' He said such wonderful things that I suddenly cried." Park Jin-young reportedly comforted her, saying, "I didn't know I'd live in a house like this either. There's nothing you can't do."
