Anticipation for the 10cm and Sunmi Collaboration Amidst Autumn Music Stories

KBS 2TV music talk show 'The Seasons – 10cm's Ssedam Ssedam' filled the autumn night with the warmth of music on the evening of the 7th. The broadcast featured Lucid Fall, Jung Sun-ah and Park Hye-na, Sunmi, Kim Do-hoon, and Kim Young-dae, who shared various music stories.

Performance queen Sunmi presented the stage for "Heat Is Rising" with an oriental-style fan performance. 10cm joked, "You can feel the craftsmanship and sportsmanship," relaying the production team's quip, "Sunmi is coming. Clean the floor thoroughly." Sunmi replied, "This new song also uses the knees, but it's not degrading. Instead, other parts are difficult." 10cm conveyed a handwritten card message saying, "I'm clumsy at hosting, but I will do my best. Thank you for coming," and Sunmi said, "I've never seen such a meticulous host." Sunmi described 10cm's voice as "always sexy," and 10cm responded, "I feel the same about Sunmi's voice," and spontaneously offered, "I will make a song and bring it to you. Please wait."

Sunmi, who has been in the industry for 18 years, revealed that she participated in writing and composing all the songs on her first full-length album. She said, "Even if it was a bit rough and clumsy, I wanted to complete it with my own hands. I felt proud seeing my name simply credited." 10cm agreed, saying, "The singer's color is deeply embedded, making the music feel richer." He also mentioned the hit formula of Sunmi's three-syllable song titles, evaluating 'Casanova,' 'Heroine,' 'Siren,' and 'Fly High,' and added that 'Cynical' is also a big hit.

Musical actors Jung Sun-ah and Park Hye-na transformed 'The Seasons' stage into Broadway, performing 'Popular' and 'Defying Gravity' from the musical 'Wicked.' 10cm marveled, "It feels like my ears are about to burst, and I think I temporarily lost my hearing." Jung Sun-ah and Park Hye-na, with 24 and 20 years of experience respectively, as representative musical actors, performed numbers from 'Moulin Rouge' and the 'Frozen' OST. They then completed a cover of Davichi's '8282,' elevating the studio atmosphere.

The two also shared their experience dubbing the Korean version of the movie 'Wicked: For Good.' Park Hye-na said, "It was a completely different method from the stage, so naturally syncing the Korean was not easy." Jung Sun-ah added, "The voice used for shouting on stage and the voice for dubbing are completely different, so it was difficult." They electrified the scene with a performance of 'Golden,' the OST from the Netflix animation 'K-Pop Demon Hunters.'

Actors Kim Do-hoon and Kim Young-dae, who worked together on the TVING original 'Dear X,' also appeared. Their arrival was met with cheers from the audience. 10cm joked, "Why is the atmosphere different from when I first appeared?" Kim Young-dae said, "Kim Do-hoon is the type who volunteers for everything. He even MCs the stage greetings himself. He prepares for MTs, and I thought if we get close, I might start to resemble him." 10cm drew the line, saying, "Not on The Seasons." Kim Do-hoon replied, "Still, I came with expectations."

When 10cm asked Kim Do-hoon to share MC skills, Kim Do-hoon took the stage for an impromptu hosting. The audience cheered for his witty hosting. 10cm said, "This is dangerous; I can't give up my spot." Kim Do-hoon amused the crowd with an impression of G-Dragon and revealed his fandom by mentioning lesser-known 10cm songs like 'Farewell at Han River' and 'Pressure of the Third Album.' Kim Young-dae showcased his charming voice with a live performance of 'Emergency Room.'

Lucid Fall, the fourth subject of the indie 30th-anniversary project 'Life Music,' debuted in 1998 with the band Misoni and has 28 years of experience. He said, "At that time, the band members had never properly handled instruments. Two days before recording, the friend who played bass quit, so I played instead. If you listen to 'Azalea Timer,' the bass tuning gets worse toward the end. It wasn't intentional; it was really out of tune." This album was selected as one of the top 100 Korean popular music albums.

Lucid Fall revealed that 'Where the Wind Blows,' one of his 'Life Music Best 3,' was "a song written when I was most lonely." 10cm spontaneously proposed a duet, and for the first time since its release, the two performed a duet stage. Their delicate harmonies blended over acoustic guitar melodies, eliciting enthusiastic responses from the audience. 10cm said, "Lucid Fall's music is so precious note by note that I couldn't make a careless sound. It was the most stressful practice I had all week."

Lucid Fall showcased a deeper musical world through his first full-length album in three years, 'Another Place.' He explained, "I wanted to convey stories of people not only in Korea but also in other countries," adding, "Many songs were created with musicians from Spain, Brazil, and other countries."

'The Seasons – 10cm's Ssedam Ssedam' airs every Friday at 10 PM on KBS 2TV.
