Lee Cheon-soo has stated his position regarding the fraud allegations. On the 7th, Lee Cheon-soo's agency, DH Entertainment, released an official statement saying, "We would like to address the fraud allegations. This incident stemmed from a misunderstanding by the complainant, Mr. A, and Lee Cheon-soo and Mr. A have reached an amicable agreement." The agency added, "After re-verifying the facts, it was confirmed that the complainant had misunderstood some details, and it was acknowledged that Lee Cheon-soo had no intention of fraud or deception." They further stated, "The complainant, Mr. A, no longer wishes for investigation or punishment and has officially withdrawn the complaint."

This case came to light after the Jeju Police Agency received a fraud complaint against Lee Cheon-soo on the 4th. According to the police, Lee Cheon-soo was booked on charges of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (fraud). The complaint stated that in November 2018, Lee Cheon-soo asked his acquaintance Mr. A for living expenses and received 130 million KRW in nine installments until April 2021 but failed to repay it.

According to the complaint, Mr. A claimed that Lee Cheon-soo encouraged him to invest 500 million KRW with his acquaintance, promising to share the profits, but he did not receive the principal or the profits properly. Lee Cheon-soo's side responded, "It is true that money was received, but at that time, Mr. A was making a lot of money, so it was money given to be used freely," and added, "For fraud charges to be valid, there must be an intention to deceive. Since there was no such intention at all, the fraud claim is not true."

Mr. A, who filed the complaint against Lee Cheon-soo, is a longtime acquaintance with whom he had a brotherly relationship, but their relationship reportedly deteriorated due to financial issues. Lee Cheon-soo played a key role as a national team member in the 2002 World Cup, contributing to the historic semifinal achievement. After retiring in 2015, he transitioned to a broadcaster and currently runs the YouTube channel "Richunsoo," which has 780,000 subscribers.

DH Entertainment stated, "Lee Cheon-soo and Mr. A have understood this matter as a misunderstanding and have amicably resolved it," and added, "Since this incident has been properly settled, we hope there will be no further speculative remarks or spread of rumors."

The fraud allegations against Lee Cheon-soo have been settled through an agreement. The agency emphasized the smooth resolution of the case and stated that there will be no further legal disputes. Lee Cheon-soo is not expected to suffer significant damage to his image due to this incident.
