KBS Sallimnam Park Seo-jin and Hyo-jung Siblings Dance Challenge Achieves Highest Viewership Rating of 5.3

KBS 2TV's "Men Who Do Housework Season 2" (hereinafter "Men Who Do Housework") delivered both laughter and emotion to viewers by featuring siblings Park Seo-jin and Hyo-jung's dance sport challenge and Lee Min-woo's deep paternal love.

The episode aired on the 8th recorded a nationwide Nielsen Korea viewership rating of 3.5%, with the scene where siblings Park Seo-jin and Hyo-jung watched a demonstration by professional dance sport players achieving the highest rating of 5.3%.

Special guests Yunho and Miyeon from (G)I-DLE appeared on the show. Yunho, who has been in the industry for 23 years, showcased his presence with a performance of "Stretch," the title track from his first solo full-length album. Yunho warmed up the atmosphere by telling MC Lee Yo-won, "You look like a fairy," while Eun Ji-won joked with Lee Yo-won, saying, "From Queen Seondeok to now the Queen of Fertility," eliciting laughter.

At the beginning of the broadcast, the story unfolded about Park Seo-jin, who had become lethargic due to autumn, and his sister Hyo-jung, who was worried about him. Hyo-jung said, "When autumn comes, I worry because oppa often just stares into space or becomes lethargic alone." Park Seo-jin compared the cheers he receives on stage to the emptiness he feels when he returns home, confessing, "After pouring all my passion into the stage and receiving applause from the audience, the car ride home is really quiet. When I enter the dark house, it feels like I'm living a completely contrasting life."

Eun Ji-won empathized, saying, "Singers especially feel that way. After a performance ends and the staff dismantle the stage, it feels so empty. I once watched that scene for an hour." Yunho added, "I feel the same. That's why I relieve it through exercise. I recommend fasted cardio." Eun Ji-won and Park Seo-jin responded, "We're hungry and doing cardio too? That's almost like a wild dog's life," turning the scene into a sea of laughter.

To help her lethargic brother, Hyo-jung took Park Seo-jin to a dance sport academy. Park Seo-jin was welcomed by Park Ji-woo, a world-class figure in dance sports, and showed confidence by performing lively dances during the basic skills test. Hyo-jung also challenged him with groovy dance moves, saying, "I'm better than oppa." Park Ji-woo evaluated that neither of them had outstanding dance skills but both had great enthusiasm.

The siblings appeared wearing dance sport-specific costumes. Dressed in flashy and bold styles, they teased each other with remarks like "It feels like a third eye is watching" and "You look like a Korean native chicken," showing the bickering nature of real siblings. Park Seo-jin explained about his see-through outfit, "The top is connected to the underwear." Hearing this, Yunho said, "I couldn't dance wearing that," recalling a past stage experience where his pants ripped, causing laughter on set.

As the sensual demonstration by professional players continued, the siblings couldn't take their eyes off the stage. They had thought they would be partners but brightened up when paired with professional players. However, when facing each other, they were too shy to make eye contact. They playfully teased each other, saying, "Your ears turned red," and "Stop raising your cheekbones," and when it was revealed that their partner teachers were actually a couple, their expressions seemed to show disappointment.

During the final lesson, Park Seo-jin grabbed Hyo-jung's hand and spun her but failed to catch her in time, creating a "throwing ending" that caused chaos on set. Park Seo-jin said, "Doing something was really better than being depressed. It made me forget my gloom." Hyo-jung added, "Oppa enjoyed it. When he dressed up, his expression changed and his energy went up. When oppa is happy, I'm happy too."

The next segment showed Lee Min-woo's busy daily life preparing his 6-year-old daughter for daycare. Seeing his wife in the late stages of pregnancy, Lee Yo-won empathized, saying, "That's really a tough time," and added, "Her body has become very heavy, and even getting up is hard. But the third child was somewhat easier." Eun Ji-won admired, "Truly the queen of fertility."

Lee Min-woo took care of his daughter's daycare while wearing a back brace due to severe back pain. He was experiencing a recurrence of a spinal disc issue, caused by long hours of driving during a family trip. While his daughter was at kindergarten, Lee Min-woo organized his storage room to create a room for her. Although he sold high-priced furniture to a secondhand dealer for less than expected, he said, "I wanted to see a clean space for the child's room."

Lee Min-woo visited the obstetrics clinic with his wife, who had lived alone in Japan until 25 weeks of pregnancy, earning living and hospital expenses through Pilates lessons. Previous tests had shown abnormal placenta findings, and after his wife experienced bleeding, they nervously attended the examination. Seeing the healthy baby on the ultrasound screen, the couple smiled with relief. His wife laughed, "The baby's nose is big," and Lee Min-woo expressed his emotions, saying, "The more I hear the baby's heartbeat, the more moved I am. It gives me chills."

Lee Yo-won asked Eun Ji-won, "Don't you want to experience that kind of emotion once?" but Eun Ji-won replied, "I'm satisfied with my own heartbeat. Is it beating well?" which made everyone laugh.

After the examination, Lee Min-woo was surprised by the medical bill not covered by health insurance. Although their marriage registration was complete, his wife, as an overseas Korean, needed to stay for six months to receive health insurance benefits. Lee Min-woo reassured his worried wife and showed his dependable side as a father by opening a savings account for their daughter and depositing pocket money.

In an interview with the production team, Lee Min-woo said, "I am gradually transforming from Shinhwa's Lee Min-woo to a father, husband, and head of the family. When Yangyang is born next month, I think I will feel like I'm being born again."

This episode captured the special sibling bond of Hyo-jung, who delivered positive energy to alleviate Park Seo-jin's lethargy, the bickering yet caring chemistry between the siblings, and Lee Min-woo's responsible side as a true head of the family preparing for his wife's childbirth.

"Men Who Do Housework" airs every Saturday at 10:35 PM.
