The five-member rookie boy group AM8IC officially debuted in the music industry on the 10th with the release of their first EP, 'LUKOIE.' Released at 6 p.m. on various online music platforms, 'LUKOIE' is an album based on a dark fantasy concept world.
The world of 'LUKOIE,' which shares its name with the album, tells the story of five boys connected in a false dream world created by the spider-shaped god of dreams, 'LUKOIE,' who embark on a journey toward the true world. This narrative is woven throughout the album, with six songs forming a cohesive story.
The title track, 'Link Up,' expresses the fateful first connection of the five boys. The bossa nova guitar riff, the brisk rhythm of British garage, and the pop drum sound harmonize to powerfully convey the excitement of their first meeting. The 'Link Up' music video teaser was released on the 8th, showcasing a blockbuster movie-level scale and visual beauty, as well as the members' acting and chemistry, presenting a unique world view.
In addition to 'Link Up,' the album includes six tracks: 'Paracosm (Intro),' 'Escher,' 'Buzzin,' 'LUKOIE,' and 'Black Moon.' Each song tells a story of an inescapable maze, the boys' will amid chaos, confidence that turns fear into laughter, despair of those trapped in illusions, and the story of holding onto each other and moving forward despite the chaos.
AM8IC consists of SAHO, MINGKAI, CHUNGYI, ROUX, and CHEN. The members are well-rounded, excelling in choreography creation, rap making, and vocal skills. The team name AM8IC combines 'AMBI-,' meaning two-way, and 'CONNECT,' symbolizing the boys who have lost their way growing and moving toward salvation through their genuine connection.
Yoon Beom-no, CEO of Tobe Entertainment, who launched AM8IC, is a Korean choreographer active in China. He has trained over 800 trainees across 50 Chinese agencies for about seven years and participated in choreography for survival programs produced by platforms such as IQIYI and TENCENT. He produced debut members on 'Youth With You 2,' the Chinese version of 'Produce 101,' and created winners on '黑怕女孩,' the Chinese version of the hip-hop survival show 'Unpretty Rapstar.' He also launched the localized Chinese girl group FANXY RED, gaining recognition for discovering artists optimized for local trends and differentiated planning. AM8IC, embodying CEO Yoon's experience, has established itself as the next-generation leader of the new wave of 5th generation idols.
