Sutak explained his current condition, saying, "I am hospitalized and receiving good treatment, and I recently underwent surgery for an orbital fracture." Reflecting on his feelings during the incident, he said, "After being assaulted and kidnapped, I really thought, 'This is how I die,' but I feel truly fortunate to be alive and able to personally share this news with you all."
Referring to photos taken when he was rescued, he said, "My face was covered in blood to the point where I thought they really intended to kill me; it was truly horrific." Although he will have scars and aftereffects in several places, he said that with time, he will gradually get better, adding, "Thanks to the comfort, support, and help from many people, I am gathering strength and working hard to recover."
He also shared that he is still mentally struggling, stating, "I am trying to regain my usual self. It is too unfair and frustrating for my one and only life to be destroyed because of those perpetrators, so I have to overcome this until the end." Sutak expressed his hope for the strict punishment of the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, the course of the incident is as follows. On the 26th of last month, around 10:40 p.m., Mr. A and others are suspected of kidnapping Sutak into a car in the underground parking lot of an apartment in Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu, and repeatedly assaulting him with a blunt weapon in an attempt to kill him. They met Sutak in the apartment parking lot where he lives, claiming they would repay borrowed money, then put him into a pre-prepared car and traveled about 200 km to Geumsan-gun, Chungnam Province.
The police tracked the car used in the crime and arrested Mr. A and others on the spot at a park in Geumsan-gun at around 2:40 a.m. on the 27th, four hours after the incident occurred. The Incheon Yeonsu Police Station announced on the 30th of the same month that Mr. A (in his 20s) and Mr. B (in his 30s) were detained on charges including attempted murder. The day before, Yoo Aram, the chief judge in charge of warrants at the Incheon District Court, conducted a pre-arrest hearing for Mr. A and others and issued arrest warrants, stating, "Considering the danger of the crime and the seriousness of the damage, there is a risk of flight."
Sutak stated that he will focus on his treatment and recovery while continuing legal action against the perpetrators. He concluded, "I am receiving continuous treatment to return in good health, and I will come back once my body and mind have stabilized to some extent. Until then, I hope you all stay safe and healthy."
