Boy group Monsta X has made a donation to support children facing food insecurity. Global child rights NGO Good Neighbors announced on the 12th that Monsta X donated funds to help children experiencing food shortages in South Korea as the year-end approached. Celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, Monsta X made the donation under the name of their fan club, Monbebe, to give back the love they received from their fans.
Monsta X won their first grand prize for "Stage of the Year" at the 2020 Asia Artist Awards and have been invited to the "10th Anniversary AAA 2025" ceremony to be held this December. They are also scheduled to perform at the United States' largest year-end festival, the "2025 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour."
The donated funds will be used to support children facing food insecurity in South Korea. Good Neighbors runs a meal support program for children at risk of food shortages during school vacations, providing meal kits, side dishes, and groceries. Since beginning donations in 2020 to help low-income families affected by COVID-19, Monsta X has continued their philanthropic efforts.
In March, they donated 100 million won to Good Neighbors to aid residents and children affected by wildfires in the Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk regions, earning a place in the high-donor group "The Neighbors Honors Club." The Neighbors Honors Club is a community of leaders who have donated over 100 million won, aiming to create positive change in the world.
Monsta X stated, "The 10 years have been even more special because we shared them with our fans," and added, "Just as Monsta X and Monbebe support each other, we hope this donation will also be a great source of strength for someone."
Hyundai Joong, Head of External Cooperation at Good Neighbors, said, "We deeply appreciate Monsta X's positive influence in celebrating their meaningful 10th anniversary with sharing," and added, "Good Neighbors will do its best to ensure that marginalized neighbors can have a warm year-end."
Meanwhile, Monsta X is set to release their U.S. digital single "Baby Blue" at midnight on the 14th. "Baby Blue" is their first official U.S. single in about four years since their second U.S. full-length album, The Dreaming, released in December 2021. At that time, Monsta X proved their global influence by entering the U.S. Billboard 200 chart for two consecutive weeks with The Dreaming. They are expected to showcase a new charm with this new song.
