Singer Lee Chan-won revealed behind-the-scenes footage of the recording and music video for his second full-length album. On November 13, Lee Chan-won released a behind-the-scenes video of the recording and music video for the title track "Somehow Today" from his second full album "Chanran (燦爛)" on his official YouTube channel.
In the video, before starting the recording, Lee Chan-won checked the sheet music and had a conversation with composer Jo Young-soo. Lee Chan-won said, "It was unfamiliar because it wasn't a song I was used to singing, but as I kept listening, I found myself singing it even while doing housework, and I really like this song." In a blind test held at the office, "Somehow Today" was selected as number one. Jo Young-soo said, "Let's make this a huge hit, a national song that everyone loves—people in their 20s, longtime fans, everyone."
Lee Chan-won entered the recording booth, turned off the lights, checked the list, and began recording. Jo Young-soo instructed him to sing with a cute, charming, and slightly whining feeling, and Lee Chan-won perfectly executed this, earning praise as "the best." After recording the beginning part of the song, Lee Chan-won said, "This is a bright song, but I recorded it with the lights dimmed as I usually do," which drew high praise from Jo Young-soo.
When recording the chorus, Lee Chan-won turned on the lights brightly and sang energetically, flawlessly delivering even the emotional parts before leaving the booth. After finishing the recording, he expressed dissatisfaction with some parts and went back in to record again, showing his professional dedication to perfection.
Immediately after recording, Lee Chan-won started filming the music video. Following the director's instructions, he showed natural facial expressions and received an "okay" sign. While waiting for the next shoot, he efficiently used his spare time by writing a letter to his beloved fans, "Chans."
During the next shoot, Lee Chan-won had fun bursting soap bubbles and taking selfies with an innocent look. While filming inside a supermarket, he joked, "There are so many things I want to eat here." Even during breaks, he took photos to confirm the coffee truck, checked his appearance, took care of the child actors, made new friends, and engaged in various activities, making good use of his time. Lee Chan-won was a true professional, thoroughly monitoring everything until the very end and giving his best.
Meanwhile, Lee Chan-won released his second full album "Chanran (燦爛)" on October 20. He plans to start a nationwide tour with the concert "Changa: A Brilliant Day" at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul from December 12 to 14. Lee Chan-won intends to get closer to his fans through these meetings.
