BTS V draws attention as a K-beauty icon in New York's Times Square



BTS's V attended a beauty brand pop-up event held in Los Angeles, USA. As the global ambassador of the Korean beauty brand TIRTIR, V was recognized as a star representing K-beauty. This pop-up event aimed to strengthen the brand image and expand the offline market by leveraging V's star power.

TIRTIR's advertising teaser surpassed 130 million views just six days after its release, creating a significant impact. This indicates the successful beginning of the collaboration between a global superstar and K-beauty. TIRTIR entered the U.S. market through viral effects on TikTok. Previously sold mainly online, TIRTIR is now making a full-scale entry into the offline market through this pop-up event.

At the event, seven out of ten large screens in the One Times Square building in New York's Times Square were filled with V's TIRTIR advertisement videos. V's videos were also broadcast on four surrounding large billboards, transforming the Times Square area into "V Road." This strategy is evaluated as maximizing advertising effects at a world-famous landmark.

The pop-up event was also held on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. Advertisements featuring V were placed throughout the streets, including subway and bus stops near the venue, attracting attention. Simultaneously, a pop-up event took place in Tokyo, Japan, where large advertisements were installed on the streets of Shibuya, adding a glamorous decoration.

As of November 17, V has 69.51 million followers on Instagram, with over 12.6 million followers in the U.S. alone. This is the highest record among Korean stars and serves as an important foothold for entering the U.S. market. On Google Trends in the U.S., V also ranks highest in search volume among Korean stars, proving his star power and popularity.

The pop-up event was attended by beauty industry insiders, media, Korean-American actors Charles Menten, Madeline Petch, Isabella Merced, Emily Rudd, and Gen Z actors, as well as American influencers. When V entered the venue, attendees simultaneously flashed their cameras and cheered. NBC's The Tonight Show described V as "The one and only," emphasizing his presence. One photographer praised his charm, saying, "V has a calm power. You can feel his charisma."

This pop-up event marks an important milestone for the global expansion of K-beauty, and V's influence is expected to grow further. The collaboration between K-beauty and global stars is anticipated to continue steadily in the future.
