Crossover group LA POEM successfully completed a performance at the Presidential Palace of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), marking the first time for a Korean group to do so. On the 18th (local time), LA POEM was invited to perform at the Korea-UAE cultural exchange event "Culture, Connecting UAE and Korea," held at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi.
This event was a state-level ceremony commemorating cultural exchange between Korea and the UAE, attended by about 300 people including President Lee Jae-myung and his spouse, key figures from politics and business, cultural artists, and Hallyu fans. LA POEM elevated the atmosphere by performing two OST songs from popular Korean dramas in the Middle East.
LA POEM performed "You Are My Everything" from the OST of "Descendants of the Sun" and "Morning Country" from the OST of "The Tyrant's Chef," in which they directly participated as vocalists. Their performance overwhelmed the venue with rich harmonies and dramatic vocals characteristic of crossover music. The stage, harmoniously blending the depth of classical music with the sensibility of popular music, powerfully conveyed the resonance of Korean drama OSTs.
For the finale, they performed "Ode to Joy" together with soprano Sumi Jo. The combination of Sumi Jo's powerful vocals and LA POEM's rich harmonies drew enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Through this performance, LA POEM reaffirmed their status as a K-crossover vocal group. They also solidified their presence as representative artists of Korean music at an event symbolizing cultural exchange between Korea and the UAE.
Meanwhile, LA POEM will hold their solo concert "LA POEM SYMPHONY In Love" at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts Grand Theater in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the 29th and 30th. This concert will be held in collaboration with the KBS Symphony Orchestra.
