Hee-sun Kim transforms into a home shopping host... A live broadcast challenge after 6 years

Kim Hee-sun proved her presence as a 'legendary return' from the very start of her internship. In the fourth episode of TV CHOSUN's Monday-Tuesday mini-series "Because There Is No Next Life," Jo Na-jung (played by Kim Hee-sun) seizes an opportunity amid an unexpected accident and is urgently assigned as the live main show host for the first time in six years. Na-jung had entered the home shopping channel she had dreamed of, but it was not easy from the beginning. Especially, Yena (played by Go Won-hee), a junior with whom she had the worst relationship, was assigned as her mentor and openly continued to undermine her. Na-jung reached out first to Yena, saying, "Please guide me. I've missed a lot in the past six years." The change in her expression from hopeful and excited to embarrassed vividly showed a realistic glimpse of the difficulties that mothers returning to work face in society.

Kim Hee-sun's acting peak was revealed in the company dinner scene. Na-jung, who joined late due to overwhelming work, had to appease her superiors without even eating a bite of meat. Her image of shaking a tambourine while easing her hunger with snacks evoked poignant sympathy. The contrast between the bright song lyrics and Na-jung's dark, anxious eyes, her worried expression as she hurriedly ran toward her sons left with a neighbor, her hurried late dinner, and the tears of apology and frustration that finally broke out during consolation—all these scenes detailed the hardships of a mother returning to work.

Though reality was tough, Na-jung did not miss the opportunity that came her way. Then, when Yena was stung by a bee, causing a broadcast crisis, Na-jung was ordered by the executive director to take the solo main live broadcast for the first time in six years. After a brief moment of nervousness and a deep breath, she instantly returned to a professional gaze, embodying professionalism itself. It was a flawless performance with no sense of a gap.

Especially, after the broadcast, when everyone was asleep on the bus, Kim Hee-sun's acting as she quietly shed tears of joy alone after receiving a call from the executive director moved viewers deeply. Every expression perfectly captured the detailed acting that connected to the narrative of 'Mom Forty' Na-jung. Kim Hee-sun's heartfelt performance, infused with her own life experiences, drew deep empathy from viewers who are working mothers and mothers returning to work.

Jo Na-jung, who showed her presence from the first day of her internship, inspires viewers' support for the growth and challenges she will face ahead. "Because There Is No Next Life" airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 PM and is also available for streaming on Netflix.
