The group ILLIT released their first single album "NOT CUTE ANYMORE" and the music video for the title track of the same name on the HYBE LABELS YouTube channel at 6 p.m. on the 24th. The music video showcases ILLIT's unique charm with the solemn theme of declaring a break from cuteness.
In the music video, an impressive scene shows the members making a resolution in front of a pink tombstone inscribed with the phrase "CUTE IS DEAD." However, they struggle against an unexpected attack by cute creatures, creating various situations. Scenes such as dancing with a blank expression, racing sports cars, and getting caught by the police provide viewers with witty enjoyment.
ILLIT's styling freely embraces kitsch, chic, and cool concepts, revealing their diverse charms. Although they reject cuteness, there is a twist where cuteness naturally emerges through their actions.
The title track "NOT CUTE ANYMORE" is a pop song with a reggae rhythm base expressing the desire not to be seen as just cute. The lyrics reflect ILLIT's actual tastes, adding a unique charm. The minimal sound and pure vocals harmonize well, especially with the catchy repeated chorus, "I'm not cute anymore."
ILLIT is scheduled to make their first live performance of the new song on KBS2's "Music Bank" on the 28th. Additionally, from the 25th to the 30th, a pop-up event celebrating the release of the new album will be held at K-Town For You COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. This pop-up will offer an opportunity to experience ILLIT's new music and concept.
This activity is expected to further solidify ILLIT's distinctive style and musical direction. The group plans to continue engaging with fans through various charms and pursue new musical challenges.
