6th Anniversary of Goo Hara's Passing... Brother Goo Hoin Posts Tribute on SNS Saying "Still Missing My Sister"

On the 6th anniversary of the late Goo Hara's passing, her older brother, Goo Ho-in, commemorated his sister with heartfelt emotions. On the 23rd, Goo Ho-in posted on his social media, "If there is someone who remembers you, you live forever." He added, "It has already been six years, but thank you sincerely for visiting." Along with this, he also shared a photo of Goo Hara's columbarium. The photo showed it filled with letters and bouquets, reflecting the fans' longing and regret.

The late Goo Hara was found dead at her home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on November 24, 2019. She was 28 years old. Goo Hara debuted in the entertainment industry in 2008 as a new member of the group Kara. Since then, she established herself as a top star by releasing several hit songs with Kara, including "Pretty Girl," "Honey," and "Mister." She also gained great love in Japan by successfully holding a concert at Tokyo Dome, a first for a Korean girl group.

However, during her lifetime, Goo Hara faced difficulties, including visiting police stations and courts due to incidents of assault and threats by her boyfriend. After her death, a dispute over inheritance arose when her biological mother, who had run away and cut off contact during Goo Hara's elementary school years, demanded a share of the inheritance. In this process, Goo Ho-in raised his voice to enact the "Goo Hara Act," which restricts the inheritance rights of biological parents who fail to fulfill their child-rearing duties.

The "Goo Hara Act" stipulates that parents who do not fulfill their child-rearing obligations lose their children's inheritance rights. This bill drew social attention through Goo Hara's case, and many support it to honor her wishes.

Goo Hara's fans and the public remember her music and activities, honoring her life and achievements. Fans hold memorial events and commemorative activities every year on the anniversary of her death, pledging not to forget her memory. Goo Hara's legacy continues to influence many, and her music is still loved today.

Goo Hara had a positive impact on many people during her lifetime, and her death raised various issues in Korean society. Her story remains not just a personal tragedy but an important event connected to social issues. Goo Ho-in stated that he will keep his sister's memory alive and never forget the pain and suffering she endured.

On the 6th anniversary of Goo Hara's passing, those who remember her reflect on the messages she left through her life and music. Goo Hara's story still leaves a deep impression on many, and her presence will never be forgotten.
