The group Stray Kids was honored with the grand prize at the '2025 MAMA Awards.' On November 29, Stray Kids was announced as the winner in the Album of the Year category at the '2025 MAMA Awards' held at Hong Kong Kai Tak Stadium. They also lifted the trophy in the Fans' Choice Male Top 10 category, selected by fan votes, winning a total of two awards.
In their acceptance speech, Stray Kids said, "A few days ago, a truly heartbreaking event occurred here in Hong Kong. We extend our deepest condolences to the victims and those affected. We hope for a swift recovery and return, and wish that our music and activities can provide some strength and comfort to you." They continued, "We still can't believe we received the grand prize at the 'MAMA Awards.' We are so happy to share the music and performances we love with many people around the world and to share joy and strength. Receiving this award motivates us to work even harder. To our driving force, our STAY (fandom name), we want to give this award to you. Thank you sincerely for your love."
Stray Kids showed overwhelming emotion as they won the album grand prize at the 'MAMA Awards' for the first time in their seven years since debut. Before receiving the award, they showcased their dignity as grand prize artists through a powerful performance. They opened with the intense track "CREED" from their fourth full-length album "KARMA," followed by the title track "Chk Chk Boom" from the mini-album "ATE," released last July, and the title track "CEREMONY" from the "KARMA" album, creating an EDM concert atmosphere. Notably, they premiered the stage for "DO IT," one of the double title tracks from their new release "SKZ IT TAPE," which came out on November 21. Following Hyunjin's solo dance break, the eight members appeared wearing outfits reinterpreting traditional Taekwondo uniforms, performing on an overwhelming scale with a dance crew, showcasing the beauty and elegance of Korean tradition.
Stray Kids achieved unparalleled global success throughout 2025. They completed the largest-scale world tour, "Stray Kids World Tour < dominATE >," with 56 performances across 35 regions worldwide. The encore concert, marking the finale of the tour, was held at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium, making it their first solo performance at a domestic stadium venue in seven years since debut.
Their first comeback this year, "KARMA," surpassed 3 million copies in first-week sales, ranking first in first-week sales among K-pop albums. Additionally, it topped the US Billboard main album chart, the "Billboard 200," for the seventh time overall, setting a historic record in the chart's 70-year history. Based on these achievements, Stray Kids has been named grand prize winners at various music award ceremonies, making this their best year yet. Their activities are expected to continue through the end of the year.
