
Actor Lee Moon-soo passed away on the 28th at a hospital in Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province. He was 76 years old. It is reported that Lee Moon-soo had been receiving treatment after being diagnosed with lung cancer in 2022. His funeral was held at the funeral hall of Hanyang University Hospital in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, and the funeral procession was scheduled for 8:20 a.m. on December 1. Lee Moon-soo was born in 1949 in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province. He worked as a public official in his youth, but his experience on the stage during a school arts festival in his childhood led him to pursue acting. He enrolled at Seoul Institute of the Arts and began his acting career in earnest. After joining the National Theater Company in 1989, he was actively involved in various plays such as "Trial," "Problematic Human Calculation," "Death of a Salesman," "1984," "The Seagull," and "King Lear."
Lee Moon-soo also stood out in films and dramas. He became a familiar face to the public by playing the role of the grandfather ghost in the movie "Hello Ghost." He also delivered realistic performances in films such as "Sacred Lineage," "Thousand-Year Crane," "Let's Live Right," and "Killer's Talk." In the drama "Signal," he appeared as the father of Lee Jae-han (played by Jo Jin-woong), leaving a deep impression.
He was awarded the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Commendation in 2010 in recognition of his contributions to acting. His recent works include the role of Jang Gwang-deok in tvN's "Ghost Doctor" and Charles in Coupang Play's "Unicorn."
