Park Na-rae in a legal dispute worth 100 million won with former managers... Application for provisional seizure filed over claims of verbal abuse and injury

Comedian Park Na-rae has become embroiled in allegations of power abuse after former managers filed a real estate provisional seizure application worth 100 million won. Park Na-rae has not yet issued an official statement.

On the 4th, a representative from Park Na-rae's agency stated regarding the power abuse allegations and the real estate provisional seizure application filed by former managers, "We are discussing the matter with a law firm," and said they would announce their position later.

According to Dispatch, Park Na-rae's former managers claimed they were subjected to verbal abuse, injury, and harassment by Park Na-rae, and announced plans to file a lawsuit seeking damages worth 100 million won. They also applied for a real estate provisional seizure at the Seoul Western District Court. They revealed that during their employment, they were repeatedly given personal orders such as forced attendance at drinking parties, running errands for side dishes, and cleaning up after parties. Some managers claimed they were verbally abused for not drinking alcohol and suffered injuries from a thrown glass by Park Na-rae.

The former managers also stated that they were responsible for medical-related tasks such as hospital appointments and proxy prescriptions, and that reimbursements for expenses and personal spending were not properly settled. They decided to resign after enduring unfair treatment, and when they requested resolution of the settlement issues, Park Na-rae's side reportedly mentioned the possibility of filing charges for defamation and forgery of private documents.

It was also revealed that Park Na-rae's one-person agency, An Park, is not registered as a popular culture and arts planning business. According to Ilgan Sports on the 4th, Park Na-rae is affiliated with 'An Park Co., Ltd.', which was established by her mother in 2018 and has been active for over a year. However, An Park reportedly did not undergo the registration process for popular culture and arts planning business. According to the Act on the Development of the Popular Culture and Arts Industry, operators of popular culture and arts planning businesses who operate without registration may face imprisonment of up to two years or a fine of up to 20 million won.

Recently, singer and musical actress Ok Joo-hyun was sent to prosecution without detention on similar charges. Park Na-rae debuted as a comedian through KBS's 21st public recruitment and gained popularity through MBC variety shows such as 'I Live Alone' and 'Home Rescue'. She won the Grand Prize at the 2019 MBC Entertainment Awards and the Female Variety Award in the TV category at the Baeksang Arts Awards the following year.

It was also reported on the same day that Park Na-rae's former managers filed a real estate provisional seizure application worth 100 million won against her at the Seoul Western District Court on the 3rd. Two former employees registered as internal directors of An Park claimed to have suffered 'power abuse' from Park Na-rae during their employment and are confirmed to be preparing a lawsuit seeking damages worth 100 million won against her.

An Park, Park Na-rae's one-person agency, was established by her mother and is registered as a service and event agency but is not listed in the registration for popular culture and arts planning businesses. According to the Act on the Development of the Popular Culture and Arts Industry, entertainers operating as corporations or as individual businesses exceeding one person must register as popular culture and arts planning businesses to operate legally. Violations may result in legal sanctions, including criminal penalties.

Park Na-rae has become involved in a legal dispute as her former managers have announced plans to claim damages worth approximately 100 million won. The former managers alleged that Park Na-rae treated them like domestic helpers by making them run errands for side dishes, clean up after parties, accompany and wait at drinking parties, and handle family matters. One manager stated that they were injured by a thrown glass when Park Na-rae was angry.

They also claimed to have been responsible for medical errands such as hospital appointments and proxy prescriptions, raising issues regarding the settlement of work-related expenses. The former managers said, "Expenses incurred for company work, as well as costs for food ingredients and alcoholic beverages purchased under personal orders, were not settled in a timely manner." They decided they could no longer endure the situation and chose to resign. During the resignation process, when they requested settlement of unpaid expenses, they were warned, "We will sue for defamation and forgery of private documents."

Park Na-rae's legal dispute and the unregistered status of her one-person agency are expected to spark controversy regarding legal standards and operational methods in the entertainment industry going forward.
