
The group TWICE donated funds to aid recovery efforts for the Hong Kong apartment fire victims. On the 4th, JYP Entertainment announced via Weibo that TWICE donated 1 million Hong Kong dollars, approximately 188 million Korean won, through World Vision Hong Kong. The donation will be used for emergency relief activities such as providing temporary shelter for affected children and residents, psychological support, educational assistance, and livelihood support.
JYP Entertainment stated, "TWICE, who will be the first K-pop girl group to perform at Hong Kong's Kai Tak Stadium on December 6 and 7, made the final decision to proceed with the concerts after in-depth discussions and careful consideration," adding, "They plan to perform with a deep sense of mourning."
TWICE expressed deep sorrow over the recent fire incident in Hong Kong, stating that all members feel great grief. They decided to donate through World Vision Hong Kong and wished for the affected residents to overcome their pain quickly and regain stability. They also extended their deepest condolences to the victims and paid tribute to the rescue workers who devoted themselves amid the crisis.
Regarding the concerts scheduled in Hong Kong from December 6 to 7, TWICE engaged in thorough discussions and careful consideration about whether it was appropriate to proceed with the performances under such somber circumstances. After closely monitoring the local situation and holding multiple consultations with the organizer Live Nation, they ultimately decided to hold the concerts as originally planned at Kai Tak Stadium.
JYP Entertainment said, "Since this decision was made with a heavy heart, we will prepare and manage the concerts with an even more solemn attitude." They once again expressed deep condolences to those who lost their lives in the unfortunate accident and offered sincere comfort to the bereaved families and everyone facing great difficulties due to the fire. They conveyed their solidarity with Hong Kong and their determination to overcome this hardship together.
