BTS received the Presidential Citation at the 5th Korea Good Donation Awards. This award was presented at an event hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and organized by the Korea Council of Charitable Organizations on December 8. BTS is the first Korean singer to receive this award.
This ceremony has been held since 2021 to encourage individuals and organizations who have brought hope and courage to society through sharing and donation activities, to share various good practice cases, and to spread a mature donation culture. BTS expressed, "'LOVE MYSELF' campaign has given us great fulfillment knowing it has had a positive impact on our society. We believe this award is not just for us but is an encouragement and support for everyone who resonated with the message of 'love yourself and love the world' that we spread through the campaign. We especially want to dedicate this honor to ARMY, who have created the campaign with us. We will continue to strive to be BTS that contributes to warm and healthy changes."
BTS formed an official partnership with UNICEF Korea Committee in 2017 and launched the 'LOVE MYSELF' campaign. This campaign is a program that promotes violence prevention and psychological support for children and adolescents in 155 countries and regions. Through this campaign, BTS has provided mental health programs to over 100 million people.
Additionally, BTS and their agency Big Hit Music have established themselves as the largest private partners in UNICEF's global child protection efforts. Together with their fans, they have raised approximately 9.2 billion KRW, which accounts for about 15% of the protection fund. Beyond the campaign with UNICEF, BTS has led positive changes domestically and internationally through continuous donations and their positive influence on social issues.
BTS has announced a large-scale world tour along with the release of new music next spring. They are accelerating preparations to meet fans worldwide again. BTS's donations and social contributions continue to receive attention alongside their musical achievements.
