Voice actor and broadcaster Seo Yuri recently clarified false information and defamation spreading online. On the 9th, Seo Yuri posted a lengthy statement on her social media, expressing her position. She stated, "Regarding the false information and defamatory posts about me that have been indiscriminately spreading online recently, I want to correct the facts and firmly express my stance."

Seo Yuri said, "Currently, multiple criminal complaints related to this matter have been filed, and as a result of investigations, hundreds of suspects have been identified, prosecuted, and punished." She emphasized, "This proves through judicial authorities that the broadcasts I conducted have no legal issues, and rather, those who maliciously slandered me committed illegal acts."

She strongly denied the 'nude broadcast' controversy as well. Seo Yuri said, "The broadcasting space I worked in, 'SOOP,' is an institutional platform that strictly follows the laws and order of South Korea. I have never, even for a moment, stepped outside the boundaries of the law or engaged in shameful acts in the shadows." She continued, "If I had been on the edge of illegality as rumored, the strict standards of investigative agencies would have targeted me. However, the result was the exact opposite. Those who mocked my lawful broadcasts as illegal obscene material were the ones judged by the law."

Seo Yuri also shared her position on appearing on broadcasts. She explained, "Choosing 'difference' by leaving behind familiar comfort was not corruption but a fierce 'challenge.' I am a voice actor and broadcaster who has communicated with the world through my voice for a long time. Stepping into an unfamiliar space where I share raw emotions with the public in real-time, after performing behind an invisible curtain with only a refined voice, was a decision made after deep reflection."

She acknowledged, "Of course, the way I expressed myself may feel unfamiliar to some. However, the outfits and gestures I showed were not mere light means to attract attention. They were a creative language to freely express myself on the stage of broadcasting, as if acting in a new role." However, she pointed out, "Unfortunately, some views labeled my challenge with provocative terms like 'celebrity downfall' or 'sexual deviation.'"

Seo Yuri argued, "It is too harsh to destroy a person's lifelong professional beliefs and stories with just a few malicious photos and fabricated rumors." She emphasized, "As a broadcaster, I humbly accept healthy criticism anytime. But baseless slander and malicious comments that insult my character are not criticism but clear crimes."

Finally, Seo Yuri said, "I did not remain silent about these illegal acts and took immediate legal action, resulting in hundreds of perpetrators being judged by the law." She added, "This is not mere retaliation. It is a rightful exercise of my rights to restore my damaged honor and protect those who trust and cherish me." She further stated, "Going forward, I will strictly deal with acts that destroy others' lives hiding behind anonymity without any leniency or settlement."

Seo Yuri debuted as a voice actor in 2008 as part of Daewon Broadcasting's first generation of voice actors. She married producer Choi Myung-gil in April 2019 but divorced last year. She was recently involved in controversy after appearing on a live internet broadcast.
