Jung Jae-hyung on Park Na-rae's indictment: "Unrelated to illegal medical practices"... Agency's official statement released

As the police have booked broadcaster Park Na-rae, singer Jung Jae-hyung, who was suspected of being involved in illegal medical practices, denied any connection, stating he is "completely unrelated." On the 10th, Jung Jae-hyung's agency Antenna released an official statement saying, "We are issuing this official statement to correct the distorted stories that are not true," and clarified, "To prevent further misunderstandings regarding the controversial variety show episode, we clearly state that he is entirely unrelated to the matter." They also emphasized, "He has no acquaintance or even a casual acquaintance with Mr. A (the injection aunt)."

This controversy arose after Park Na-rae announced a suspension of activities, following renewed attention to a segment from MBC's 'I Live Alone,' featuring both Park Na-rae and Jung Jae-hyung, in which the term "IV drip" was mentioned. In the broadcast, Jung Jae-hyung asked Park Na-rae, "When you make an IV drip appointment tomorrow, do I have to get one too?" to which Park Na-rae replied, "I'll make an IV drip appointment for you too." This remark sparked controversy, leading to suspicions that Park Na-rae recently received an IV drip from an unlicensed "injection aunt."

Park Na-rae refuted the allegations, stating, "I received nutrients from a licensed doctor," but the medical community insists, "She was treated by an unlicensed practitioner," and the controversy continues. Im Hyun-taek, president of the Korean Pediatric Society, reportedly filed a complaint against the so-called "injection aunt," Ms. Lee, who administered the IV drip to Park Na-rae, on charges of violating medical law, pharmaceutical law, and fraud. The Ministry of Health and Welfare stated that since the medical community has already filed a complaint, they will monitor the investigation's progress and consider administrative investigations if necessary.

The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul received complaints from Park Na-rae's former managers, who filed charges against her for special injury, defamation by false facts, and violation of the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation). The former managers claim they suffered workplace harassment, verbal abuse, special injury, demands for proxy prescriptions, and unpaid expenses from her.

Park Na-rae stated that misunderstandings regarding the manager abuse allegations have been resolved, but the former managers claim there was no agreement. Through Channel A news broadcast on the 9th, the former managers said, "It is true that we met and talked for about three hours with Park Na-rae, but we did not receive an apology, nor was there any agreement between the parties." They added, "When we said, 'Haven't we endured a lot for a month? We can't do this anymore,' Park Na-rae said, 'Then let's sue,' and we were shocked to hear that the misunderstanding was resolved."

The former managers expressed, "It felt like she met me to release a statement," and "It seems like an attempt to delay and change public opinion." On the 8th, Park Na-rae posted on her social media that she met with Mr. A in the early morning of the 7th, saying, "We were able to clear up misunderstandings and distrust, but I still believe everything is my fault and deeply reflect on it."

On the 3rd, Park Na-rae's former managers filed a provisional seizure application for real estate against her at the Seoul Western District Court. The former managers claim they suffered personal harassment such as running errands for Park Na-rae's home, cleaning up after parties, forced drinking, and being on call 24 hours a day, as well as medical-related errands like hospital appointments and proxy prescriptions. They also accused Park Na-rae of privately paying company funds to her ex-boyfriend and filed charges against her for violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (embezzlement).

On the 5th, Park Na-rae filed a complaint against her former managers for attempted extortion at the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul. Her side claimed in a previous statement, "The former managers who worked for one year and three months demanded an excessive amount equivalent to 10% of the company's previous year's sales after receiving severance pay."

The Gangnam Police Station assigned an investigator to the case filed by the managers and is coordinating the complainant's investigation. Although no investigator has yet been assigned to Park Na-rae's complaint submitted to the Yongsan Police Station, a full-scale investigation will begin soon. Due to the personal controversy, Park Na-rae has withdrawn from fixed member appearances on MBC's variety show 'I Live Alone' and tvN's variety show 'Amazing Saturday.' The production of MBC's new variety show 'I Am Also Excited,' scheduled to air in January next year, has been canceled.
