
Actor Kwon Sang-woo expressed confidence at the production presentation of the movie "Heartman." The event, held on December 11 at Lotte Cinema Konkuk University in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, was attended by Kwon Sang-woo, Moon Chae-won, Park Ji-hwan, Pyo Ji-hoon, and director Choi Won-seop. "Heartman" is a comedy film about the protagonist Seung-min (played by Kwon Sang-woo) and the events that unfold through his reunion with his first love. It will be released on January 14 next year.
Kwon Sang-woo said, "It seems like it will be the first Korean movie to be released in 2026. I ask for a lot of interest," adding, "This is a movie from the 'Hitman' series. If I may say so, it is much more fun than 'Hitman.' 'Hitman' existed for 'Heartman.'" He also mentioned that he referred to Hugh Grant in the movie "Notting Hill" while playing the role of Seung-min. Kwon Sang-woo added, "If you watch the movie, you will feel a similar nostalgia."
Director Choi Won-seop spoke about working with Kwon Sang-woo for the third time, saying, "This is the third project with Kwon Sang-woo. He is my persona," and "His sense of comedy is outstanding. Our chemistry is much better." He expressed his affection for Kwon Sang-woo's comedic acting. Kwon Sang-woo transforms into Seung-min, a former member of the rock band Ambulance, and is receiving great love from the public in the comedy genre.
Kwon Sang-woo said, "Somehow, I ended up doing a comedy movie. I have also been recognized as a comedy actor by younger audiences," adding, "'Heartman' is a beautiful movie I didn't want to miss, and I approached it with that mindset. Every time I went to the set, there was joy." He also said, "I used to do a lot of action movies. I am still training now. I am trying to show a new side of myself."
Park Ji-hwan spoke about his chemistry with Kwon Sang-woo, saying, "He is a star and a senior, but I didn't know he was this lovable. He was cool and treated me sweetly, so I was captivated." He boasted about their genuine friendship chemistry, stating, "Senior Kwon Sang-woo made me feel loved and comfortable, so I was able to film enjoyably." Pyo Ji-hoon said, "I grew up watching many of senior's works, so I was nervous, but he made me feel comfortable, so I enjoyed filming."
"Heartman" tells the story of Seung-min, who reunites with his first love while carrying a secret he can never reveal to her. The film is drawing attention through the collaboration of Kwon Sang-woo and director Choi Won-seop, and the combination of the two, specialized in the comedy genre, is expected to bring great laughter to audiences.
