Comedian Lee Kyung-sil appeared on KBS2's entertainment program 'Rooftop Problem Children' and revealed the reason for her departure from 'Three Wheels.' On the broadcast on the 11th, Lee Kyung-sil explained the change in her broadcasting style, saying, "In the past, a bit of strong talk was accepted." She said, "At some point, I became the villain."
Lee Kyung-sil specifically mentioned the reason she decided to leave 'Three Wheels.' She confessed, "Park Mi-sun was like a biological mother, and I was the mother-in-law character. I took on that role because it was needed, but at some point, I became a very bad person." She continued, "The production team completely changed, and trying to do better, they made me the villain again," she revealed. Lee Kyung-sil added, "So I said I couldn't do it anymore and quit 'Three Wheels.' I quit earlier than others."
MC Song Eun-i could not hide her surprise at Lee Kyung-sil's remarks. When Yang Se-chan asked, "I heard you receive a lot of DMs on SNS these days," Lee Kyung-sil said, "I get a lot of divorce counseling DMs from people who are divorced. I don't want to bring up my story, but I respond kindly."
Lee Kyung-sil recalled her time of popularity as the villain character on MBC's entertainment program 'Three Wheels.' 'Three Wheels' aired from 2009 to 2015 and gained great popularity for the sharp remarks of female entertainers like Lee Kyung-sil. In 2013, during the program's heyday, Lee Kyung-sil suddenly announced her departure, attracting much attention.
Lee Kyung-sil said, "In the past, straightforward talk was fun. Strong talk was accepted," and added, "Viewers found that entertaining. Entertainment shows were like that too." She said, "At that time, Park Mi-sun had a mother-like style, and I had a mother-in-law style," and added, "Entertainment needed such (strong) characters, so I did it, but at some point, I became a very bad person."
Lee Kyung-sil emphasized that the change in the production team and the resulting character change greatly influenced her decision to leave. She said, "Once, the 'Three Wheels' production team changed after 18 years. The producers seemed greedy. They made me the villain again," and said, "So I ended up quitting 'Three Wheels.'"
The broadcast also included congratulatory messages for Kim Jong-kook's marriage. Kim Jong-kook smiled and said, "It's very good." Kim Sook asked, "Do you like it since you got married?" and Hong Jin-kyung teased, "You just say it's very good." Joo Woo-jae said, "You say you're happy like sneezing," making Kim Jong-kook embarrassed. Kim Jong-kook couldn't hold back his laughter at the members' continuous teasing and burst out laughing.
