Announcer Jeon Jong-hwan corrected the perception of announcer appearance fees. On the December 13 broadcast of MBC variety show "Omniscient Interfering View," Jeon Jong-hwan shared his daily life and experiences as an announcer. Former MBC announcer Kim Dae-ho also appeared on the show that day.

Jeon Jong-hwan introduced the announcer department and showed his commute to work. When Kim Dae-ho's seat, located on one side of the announcer department, appeared in the VCR during the broadcast, Yang Se-hyung asked, "Seeing it like this, do you want to go back?" Kim Dae-ho smiled and replied, "Do you go back to a life that has already passed?"

A document summarizing the number of times Jeon Jong-hwan hosted radio news was revealed at his seat. Jeon explained, "Since we split the radio news, we check how many times we did it each month and settle the accounts accordingly." He expressed frustration, saying, "When announcers go freelance, people say, 'You get 5,000 won per broadcast,' which isn't entirely wrong, but it feels like only the per-appearance fee is emphasized."

The panel pointed to Kim Dae-ho and Jeon Hyun-moo, mentioning, "The two often used that story." Jeon Hyun-moo shared his experience, saying, "Celebrities found that amusing." He added, "When I was the MC of 'Star Golden Bell,' I received 18,000 won for that day's appearance. Since then, it became a topic of conversation."

Jeon Jong-hwan emphasized, "If you only look at the appearance fee, it seems like we work very poorly, but in reality, we receive a salary from the company, and our value cannot be measured by appearance fees alone." He explained, "Viewers might think announcers want to go out at all costs, but there are announcers who are nurturing their dreams inside. It's not full of people who just want to go out and succeed."

Jeon also mentioned Kim Dae-ho's case, saying, "He was able to grow and go out because he gradually developed his broadcasting style within the company and then bore fruit." Jeon Hyun-moo admired Jeon Jong-hwan's remark, saying, "I want to become the president of MBC."

Before resigning, Kim Dae-ho appeared on numerous MBC variety programs and spoke about announcer appearance fees. He revealed, "For broadcasts longer than an hour, the appearance fee is about 48,000 won." Kim Dae-ho resigned from MBC on February 4 this year and transitioned to freelancing, after which his appearance fees "increased by 100 to 150 times."

Kim Dae-ho confessed that he received four years' worth of MBC salary over nine months after resigning. He mentioned, "Announcers receive salaries based on seniority. The annual salary for a deputy general manager with 14 years of experience is about 100 million won."

Jeon Jong-hwan clarified the perception of announcer experience and related appearance fees, emphasizing that announcers do not simply want to go freelance but have various dreams. Along with this, discussions about the realities of the broadcasting industry and the value of announcers continued.
