
KBS's "2025 Music Bank Global Festival in Japan" gathered 120,000 global fans at the Tokyo National Stadium, once again proving the status of K-pop. The event took place over two days, on the 13th and 14th, and was recorded as the first K-pop concert held at Tokyo National Stadium, the largest venue in Japan.
This concert, under the theme "Golden Road," highlighted the phenomenon of K-pop expanding beyond Korea to the world. Top K-pop artists gathered to vividly showcase the global appeal of K-pop. The MCs were actor and singer Lee Jun-young and Jang Won-young from IVE, both presenting dazzling visuals in a white suit and dress. Lee Jun-young provided a stable hosting, while Jang Won-young skillfully engaged the audience.
On the first day, the 13th, ATEEZ, ITZY, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ENHYPEN, NMIXX, BOY NEXT DOOR, RISE, EYELET, Kickflip, Hearts to Hearts, and ID:IT performed. Lee Jun-young also had a solo stage, and special guest Snow Man performed. On this day, ENHYPEN created a dramatic stage with "Blessed-Cursed" and "Future Perfect," and TOMORROW X TOGETHER thrilled the audience with "Beautiful Strangers," "Upside Down Kiss," and the Japanese album track "Where Do You Go." Especially, Yeonjun of TOMORROW X TOGETHER received great cheers with an overwhelming solo performance.
On the second day, the 14th, Yunho, Stray Kids, NiziU, IVE, ANTHEM, Psycus, Zerobaseone, TOURS, NCT WISH, Nexzi, Izuna, Kiki, and Cortis appeared. IVE delivered a perfect stage with "REBEL HEART," "Dear, My feelings," "ATTITUDE," and "XOXZ," while Stray Kids heated up Tokyo National Stadium with "CEREMONY," "COMPLEX," "TOP LINE," and "Do It."
The special stage called "Golden Stage" created a great response by having junior artists reinterpret songs of their seniors. On the first day, RISE performed TVXQ's "HUG," and Hearts to Hearts performed Girls' Generation's "Genie." On the second day, Izuna captivated the audience with Kara's "Pretty Girl," and Cortis perfectly covered BTS's "Mic Drop." Additionally, the unit Medanz of TOURS and Nexzi performed SEVENTEEN's "Hit" and Stray Kids' "Rock (樂)," eliciting enthusiastic reactions from the audience.
This concert gained even more significance as the group Snow Man, beloved in Japan, attended as a special guest to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Korea-Japan diplomatic relations. The highlight of the concert was the moment when all performers came on stage to connect with the fans. The 120,000 audience members responded with light sticks and sing-alongs to the performances of top K-pop artists, reaffirming the status of K-pop. Finally, the concert concluded successfully with a spectacular fireworks show and the cheers of fans.
"2025 Music Bank Global Festival in Japan" is scheduled to be broadcast on KBS 2TV on the 30th at 8:30 PM. It will be an opportunity to once again confirm the global influence of K-pop and the passion of its fans.
