
Kim Seol appeared on the tvN variety show 'You Quiz on the Block' and revealed her learning methods and growth process. In the episode aired on the 17th, Kim Seol shared her experiences as a child actress and her daily life as a middle school student. She gained much love for her role as Jin-joo in the 2015 drama 'Reply 1988' and is currently attending the second year of middle school.
In response to Yoo Jae-suk's questions, Kim Seol recalled memories from 'Reply 1988,' saying, "What I clearly remember are the eating scenes. I also remember actress Hyeri, oppa Go Kyung-pyo, and actress Kim Sun-young." She expressed her delight during the conversation with Yoo Jae-suk as she reminisced about being four years old at the time.
Kim Seol's child acting career was influenced by her older brother. She explained, "My brother did child acting for a short time. Since he couldn't leave his younger sibling alone, I went to the filming sets with him. Then, by chance, Seol got a good opportunity."
Kim Seol recently completed a gifted education program. She said, "I took the gifted program exam in the field of convergent invention, and the place I attended was under the education office, so there was no tuition fee. You just have to take the exam every year and pass." She added, "I have never failed to pass."
Yoo Jae-suk asked about the subjects that invention gifted students learn, and Kim Seol explained, "We learn woodworking, and sometimes math and science. Invention gifted students have to present their outputs, so there are many classes for producing outputs."
Kim Seol also mentioned her leadership in class. She said, "I have been the class president since the first grade. If I don't lead, I feel unsettled." When Yoo Jae-suk asked about her parents' educational approach, Kim Seol replied, "They didn't do much. I got a cellphone only when I was in the upper grades of elementary school. Until then, I read a lot of books with my brother."
Kim Seol's older brother added, "I felt that Seol was smarter than her peers." Regarding why she doesn't attend private academies, Kim Seol said, "I went once in elementary school, but it didn't suit my aptitude, and my grades actually dropped. Now, I solve workbooks and watch online lectures at a study cafe." She also revealed that she is currently learning to play the haegeum.
