G-Dragon, Melon Music Awards 7-time Winner 'Unparalleled Presence'


Singer G-Dragon achieved a spectacular feat by winning three out of the four grand prizes at the 2025 Melon Music Awards (MMA 2025). Held on the 20th at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, this ceremony is hosted by Melon, Kakao Entertainment's music streaming platform, with winners determined based on chart performance. This event highlights the achievements of domestic popular music and attracted great attention from music fans with its powerful lineup.

The Record of the Year award went to Jennie. Jennie expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you for giving me such a great award. This year has been very meaningful to me. My first album was released, and many things happened, so I'm happy to end the year on a joyful note." She added, "I will continue to be Jennie who makes great music," expressing her longing for her Blackpink members.

The Album of the Year award was given to G-Dragon's "WEVERMACHINE." G-Dragon explained the album's significance, saying, "Every year is special and precious, but this year will be personally remembered as a meaningful one. This album took a long time to produce because it involved many first-time attempts." He thanked his VIP fans, who are the source of his inspiration, and expressed his longing for Big Bang members.

G-Dragon also won Artist of the Year. He humorously said, "This is not a rerun. I am receiving the grand prize for the second time," and added, "I will do better. I will work hard to be an artist worthy of this moment." He emphasized, "I want everyone here to know that we are all artists. Each story is different, but there is no right answer, so be the protagonist."

The Best Song of the Year award went to G-Dragon's "HOME SWEET HOME," performed with Taeyang and Daesung. He shared his feelings, saying, "The road to receiving an award is long and tough. But because it is so meaningful, it is not hard at all and I am happy."

G-Dragon became the star of the ceremony by winning a total of seven awards. He also won in various categories such as Top 10, Best Solo Male, and Best Songwriter. On the performance stage, he showcased his presence with various songs including "Power," "HOME SWEET HOME," "TOO BAD," and "Crooked."

Jennie's stage also drew attention. She delivered a grand-scale performance with 50 dancers. Jennie appeared singing "Seoul City," followed by "ZEN" and "like JENNIE," thrilling the audience. Especially, "like JENNIE" was reborn with a unique arrangement and received great response.

EXO made a comeback stage after two and a half years, showing the momentum of the "K-pop kings." They performed hit songs such as "Wolf and Beauty," "Monster," "The Eve," "Love Shot," and "Growl," receiving cheers from fans. Their new song "Back It Up" was also revealed, raising expectations.

The New Artist of the Year award, corresponding to the rookie award, was given to All Day Project and Hearts to Hearts. They expressed their gratitude, saying, "We will work harder starting with this award." The Top 10 included G-Dragon, IVE, aespa, P1Harmony, BoyNextDoor, RISE, NCT WISH, Jennie, Lim Young-woong, and Rosé. The Millions Top 10 featured IVE, Jennie, G-Dragon, P1Harmony, RISE, BoyNextDoor, Rosé, SEVENTEEN, IU, and Lim Young-woong.
