Jun Hyun-moo wins the Grand Prize at the KBS Entertainment Awards... "It reminds me of when I was an announcer trainee 20 years ago"


Broadcaster Jeon Hyun-moo won the Grand Prize at the '2025 KBS Entertainment Awards.' The award held even greater significance as it was from KBS. On the 20th, at the '2025 KBS Entertainment Awards' held at the KBS New Building Public Hall in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, Lee Chan-won, Lee Min-jung, and Moon Se-yoon served as MCs. This year's Grand Prize nominees included Kim Sook, Kim Young-hee, Kim Jong-min, Park Bo-gum, Boom, Lee Chan-won, and Jeon Hyun-moo. After fierce competition among entertainers who captivated viewers with their popularity, Jeon Hyun-moo was announced as the winner.

Jeon Hyun-moo showed a surprised expression when his name was called. Earlier, upon receiving the Entertainer of the Year Award, he said, "I am grateful just to be nominated for the Grand Prize every year. This year, I came to applaud." However, contrary to expectations, he won the Grand Prize. He joked, "'The Manager Has Donkey Ears' is a program where the managers we appear with prepare all the food, so it was hard to expect to win," adding, "So I only prepared a speech for the SBS Entertainment Awards," which drew laughter from the audience.

Jeon Hyun-moo, a former KBS announcer, recalled the time 20 years ago when he was preparing for the announcer exam. He said, "Twenty years ago, during my third attempt at the KBS announcer exam, I sat on the main building stairs and vowed to pass no matter what," and added, "I am happy to receive such a great award after 20 years." He also shared, "I have been going through a tough time lately. My father has been ill, and traveling to the hospital was physically exhausting, but I think KBS, my hometown, has given me a great gift," promising, "I will work even harder for my hometown."

The nominees for Best Program Award included 'Gag Concert,' '2 Days & 1 Night,' 'Immortal Songs,' 'The Return of Superman,' 'Men Who Do Housework,' 'The Manager Has Donkey Ears,' 'New Product Launch Pantry,' and 'The Seasons.' 'Men Who Do Housework' won the award. PD Pyeon Eun-ji, who directed the show, said, "I feel again how joyful it is to work with wonderful people. This is why I love this job," and added, "Recently, during a meal with Seo-jin, I heard that his life changed a lot while doing 'Men Who Do Housework.' Hearing such stories gives me great satisfaction as a producer."

This year's acceptance speeches attracted much attention. Boom, who was nominated for the Grand Prize, won the Entertainer of the Year Award and announced his wife's pregnancy. He said, "I am very grateful to my family, parents, mother-in-law, and wife," adding, "Good things happen every time I come to KBS. At the last award, I had my first child, and this time, the second is growing well in the womb." Boom expressed his affection, saying, "I want to dedicate this award to my wife who is resting."

Ji Sang-ryeol of 'Men Who Do Housework,' who won the Excellence Award in the Reality category, shared a personal story. He mentioned his girlfriend, show host Shin Bo-ram, with whom he recently started a public relationship, saying, "I met a precious person through 'Men Who Do Housework.' I am once again grateful to the program that created a precious time where I could stay like a butterfly when the flowers bloom." Chef Jung Ji-seon of 'The Manager Has Donkey Ears,' who won the Popularity Award, shared the sad news of his twin brother's deteriorating health. He said, "My twin brother was diagnosed with a brain tumor a week ago," adding, "He is struggling a lot, but let's do our best because we can overcome this."

KBS's long-running entertainment program '2 Days & 1 Night' demonstrated strong teamwork despite the voluntary departure of fixed member Jo Se-ho. Moon Se-yoon, who won the Best Entertainer Award in the Show & Variety category, said, "I think this award means I have been active in various fields, so I am happier than winning the Grand Prize," and credited, "'2 Days & 1 Night' was able to do well thanks to hyung Kim Jong-min. He is someone who leads the younger members well."

Lee Joon of '2 Days & 1 Night,' who won the Excellence Award in the Show & Variety category, expressed his affection for the team. He said, "I created a relationship for the first time in my life where I could comfortably get along like classmates regardless of age, with hyung Kim Jong-min who is nine years older than me and (Yoo) Seon-ho who is over ten years younger," adding, "It is a grateful program where I learned a lot and was able to grow as a person." He continued, "I will continue to meet viewers with meaningful content. Please continue to give us lots of love now and in the future."
