Broadcaster Jeon Hyun-moo won the Grand Prize at the '2025 KBS Entertainment Awards' held at KBS. The awards ceremony, held on the 20th at KBS Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, was hosted by Lee Min-jung, Lee Chan-won, and Moon Se-yoon. On this day, Jeon Hyun-moo was nominated for the Grand Prize alongside Kim Sook, Kim Young-hee, Kim Jong-min, Park Bo-gum, Boom, and Lee Chan-won, and he received the honor.
In his acceptance speech, Jeon Hyun-moo expressed surprise, saying, "I naturally thought it would be Park Bo-gum. When the camera came to me, I thought it was just teasing hope." He added, "I had only prepared my speech for winning the SBS Entertainment Awards. I really did not expect this." He then honestly shared, "I have been on 'The Manager' for a long time, but I thought I hardly did anything."
Reflecting on his broadcasting career, Jeon Hyun-moo said, "I remember coming to the main building stairs around 4 a.m. while trying for the KBS announcer exam for the third time in 2005, promising myself that I would definitely join KBS next year." He added, "I can't believe I am receiving such a big award 20 years after becoming an announcer." While feeling pride as a son of KBS, he also expressed affection for his hometown, saying, "I was a bit disappointed that the award was actually given by another place, but I am grateful."
Jeon Hyun-moo also opened up about personal difficulties. He said, "The hardest time in entertainment is when you have to make others laugh even when you are struggling yourself. Personally, these days in 2025 are very tough." He revealed, "My father is unwell, and I am going back and forth to the hospital, going through a physically difficult time." He vowed, "I believe that making others laugh is not the entirety of an entertainer's role. I will strive to be a genuinely good person who brings satisfaction when people see me."
Jeon Hyun-moo began his broadcasting career in 2006 as a KBS 32nd public announcer. Afterward, he transitioned to freelancing and actively participated in entertainment programs, gaining the love of viewers. He has won the Grand Prize three times for his work on MBC's 'I Live Alone' and 'Omniscient Interfering View.' However, at KBS, he had remained at the 'Entertainer of the Year' award for four consecutive years, making this Grand Prize win even more meaningful.
Meanwhile, Jeon Hyun-moo recently became embroiled in allegations of illegal medical procedures related to the 'Jusaimo' controversy involving Park Na-rae, Key, and Ipjjalbeun Haetnim. The photo in question, showing an IV drip inside a vehicle, was from a scene aired in 2016 on 'I Live Alone.' His agency, SM C&C, clarified, "There was no personal call to medical staff or receipt of illegal procedures."
The awards ceremony also featured a special moment honoring the late Jeon Yoo-sung. The comedy legend received a lifetime achievement award, and a special stage prepared by juniors was held. During this scene, Nam Hee-seok shed tears in remembrance of the deceased. Along with Jeon Hyun-moo's Grand Prize win, the ceremony was recorded as a memorable moment for many.
